Bring your tent one step closer to your bed.
Just because you’re camping doesn’t mean it has to be an uncomfortable affair. The Therm-A-Rest Mattress Snap Kit lets you attach the Therm-A-Rest Tech Blanket or Ventra Down Comforter (both sold separately)to your Therm-A-Rest mattress. The kit can also be used to attach two Therm-A-Rest mattresses together to create a luxury double-wide.

Does this attach well to the RidgeRest or Z-Lite Sol? I'm wondering if it holds so I can use this setup with a blanket while hammocking (spring-summer camping only).
Don't buy this expecting to "attach two Therm-A-Rest mattresses together to create a luxury double-wide". That's evidently an invention of Cascade Design's marketing department. Maybe they'd work for attaching a blanket, but they're not really designed to hold two mattresses together. An expensive disappointment!

Write your question here...If you have the fitted sheets (w/snaps) then you don,t need the snap kit?? I am confused if the snaps on the sheets are to hold the pads together or to snap on a blanket. We have 2 prolite pads with the sheets and are trying to figure out what we need to snap them together. Thanks
If you have sheets then you do not the snap kit. The F&L snap fit is for people who want to use one of the Thermarest sleep systems but do not want to carry the weight of the sheets.

How does this actually work? One problem my wife and I always have is that our pads slide apart during the night. Does this just stick on to the pads and then snap together? How does that affect storage?
Yes, you can use this snap kit for that purpose. They were initially intended to be used with the Thermarest Tech Blanket and Down Ventra Comforter to save weight over the Thermarest Fitted Sheet. My recommendation would be to try out the fitted sheet option (http://www.backcountry.com/store/CAS0298/Therm-a-Rest-Fitted-Sheet.html). This allows you to lie on the mattress very comfortably and still snap the two pads together. I would do this rather than sticking on something adhesive to my pad. If you are trying to save pack weight, this is an excellent option. Otherwise I would go with the fitted sheet.
If you do go with the fitted sheet, make sure you get the right size...

how much does the thermarest snap kit weigh
The kit has a shipping weight of 0.10 pounds, at least that is what I found. That is according to moontrail.com.
