      Who needs sleeping bags?

My wife and I use this with our two Big Agnes Iron Mountain Air pads and a Therm-a-Rest Vela Quilt. Coupled together we have what feels like a full size bed anywhere we go in the mountains! I basically cram the coupler and the quilt in a small dry bag, and I fit it in the bottom of either of our back packs.

This coupler has little loft, I would say about 1/2 an inch, but it's just enough to make a difference at night, and also give you a little extra comfort. If you're the sort of person who likes to sleep naked or just in underwear when summer camping, this makes your mattress silky smooth against your skin.

Don't forget this is part of a sleep system, you should buy either the Therma Reset Vela quilt, or another quilt to go with it, and you and your partner will be so happy! Together the two weigh a little less than two mummy sleeping bags, take up less space, and are way more comfortable, especially for 3 seasons camping.

My only reason I give this 4 stars, is we broke one of the button clips on the side that's design to help keep the quilt down. In reality these should be velcro, in case you pull up your quilt too hard so they release, instead of tearing the stitches out. Not a huge deal though, since it's super easy to fix, just an area I feel like can be improved in future revisions.

        Great !

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Really goood product . My girlfriend bought it . I didn´t know what to expect of it really but one night in the woods was enought for me to give it 5 stars. Combined with some thermarest sleeping pads makes an amazing combo ( it is NOT designed to be used WITHOUT a sleeping pad ) . Not only it adds some noticeable thermal isolation but due to its fabric it prevents your sleeping bag from sliding when you roll during sleep. You can perfectly use it with different size sleeping pads .. ... really really good product .

        Great !

Does this fit on your pads like a fitted sheet or is it something that covers the top and bottom of your mattress pad?

        Warm, comfy, cozy...

Also fairly lightweight. No complaints here!

Stellar! 4 thumbs up to ThermaRest

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

So, my wife and I recently went on a cold weekend camping trip and our air mattress busted, probably from going warm to cold to warm. We were trying to figure out our best options to move away from purchasing an air mattress because we didn't want that happening again to us. We thought about researching double pads that were larger sized because we wanted to go bigger. We are already big fans of sleeping pads because we each have one and somehow ended up buying the exact same size but completely different styles and brands. I got mine 12 years ago and she got hers 4 years ago. She began to research and found this so we took our chance on trying it out and we just got it in the mail and instantly became a big fan. We have a Toyota Tacoma and it fits perfectly in it. We have sleeping pads that are the size of a ThermaRest Basecamp L and went with the L size coupler. You'll never go back to an air mattress if you are big fans of sleeping pads in the first place. It is so convenient and easy to handle and maneuver. It even has buttons so that you can fold it in half, which is nice for storing when not in use. We also saved 6 inches in height with this system!!!

Stellar! 4 thumbs up to ThermaRest

        very thin

        • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I bought this item thinking it would make my mattresses a little more comfortable by adding some loft. Unfortunately, this is very thin and only has about 1/2" of loft, which compresses to nothing when you lay on it. I could see the coupler being a benefit in the summer as the bottom part of a sleep system but don't see it adding much warmth to a non-insulated mattress in cold environments. It is has significantly less loft than a sleeping bag and didn't improve comfort of my mattress.

        Double down with someone sweet

Perfect if your sharing a tent with someone you want to get close to, or really want to spread out like a starfish. takes up a bit of room in your pack, but squishes down pretty small. If you have the dough to drop, I recommend this product. Your friends will be jealous! And that extra spot next to you will be a coveted space for some lucky other who needs a cozy place to rest.

Would two dreams fit in this coupler?

Do you think it would be a good option for two mummy style sleeping pads (Pro Lite Plus)?
