The North Face Ultra MT Winter Trail Shoe - Women's

Train On.

Though flakes have started to fall, that ultra marathon you signed up for in the spring isn't getting any shorter. Keep grinding mile after mile in The North Face Women's Ultra MT Winter Trail shoe, which is equipped with a zippered, splash-proof HydroSeal vamp to seal out snow and keep feet dry. Though durable, shrouded shoes are fully waterproof, and they still breathe thanks to the FlashDry collar lining. An internal heel grab and oversized zipper mean easy-on convenience, even while wearing gloves.

When venturing into high alpine terrain or running the trails closer to town, an ESS plate from the midfoot to the forefoot provides optimized energy return and protection from jagged rocks underfoot. EVA inserts in the heel and forefoot add extra cushioning regardless of where your foot strikes. The Vibram Icetrek outsole provides unparalleled grip on slick, icy surfaces, and widely spaced, chevron-shaped lugs shed packed snow and mud to keep you moving forward. Best of all, the Ultra MTs are snowshoe compatible for rest day strolls through the woods.

Not water proof

I wear these just on wet grass and water soaked through onto my sock after just 2 wears. They are also slippery when walking on sidewalks and roadways.

    Winter Running Motivation!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 8 M

I was looking for a winter running shoe with good traction and kept my feet dry in wet and snowy conditions, and the North Face Ultra MT Winter Trail Shoe didn't disappoint! I almost chose the Saucony Razor Ice, but opted for the North Face ones instead because they are fully waterproof. I've run in the rain, splashing through puddles and my feet stayed dry. I found them easy enough to get on and off, even though the lacing system took some getting used to. I really like how the zippered outer cover fits secure and snug over the ankle. I got my usual running shoe size and they fit a little loose with my usual lightweight running socks but are perfect with thicker merino wool running socks. Overall cushioning is good as well. These actually made me look forward to running in the winter or rain!

    Dry Feet!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

This was a gift for a friend but she had some feedback. I got her these because she loves running her dogs at a nearby golf course all year round and in the snow. After using a couple of times, she mentioned they're a little bit tough to get on. Other than that, she loves them and more importantly, keep her feet dry!
