Why We Like the Powderflo FUTURELIGHT Jacket

We’re ready for deep days, and when they hit, we want a jacket that can keep up. The Powderflo FUTURELIGHT Jacket is made to do just that, with water-repellent 3-layer material that keeps us warm and dry when the mountain is anything but. A powder skirt with gripper elastic keeps flying snow out of our layers, while a helmet-compatible hood adds extra warmth for when the wind picks up on the lift. When the sun breaks through and temperatures start to rise, reach for the zippered underarm vents that help you stay dry and comfortable for a full day of shredding.

Nice jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was super light and kept me warm. The wrist gaiters are a bit odd but not a dealbreaker.

My new favorite ski jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second North Face shell. My first last nearly 20 years though heavy use so I decided to replace it with the Futurelight. I've only had the jacket for about a month but very pleased thus far. Pros: I like the wrist gaiters (some reviewers did not) and pocket placement is great. Kept me warm and dry during 5 days of skiing in CO. I'm 6'3" and 190 lbs and Medium fits great with room for layering. Cons: the hood is oversized to accommodate helmets but this make is too big for using without a helmet. Even with the helmet, I had to tighten the bungees to keep the hood on my helmet in any kind of wind. The only other issue is the hook in the back of the powder skirt can cause discomfort when sitting on the lift chair. TNF made it rubber so they def thought about this issue and it was nice to have on powder days to keep snow out of my pants. I don't think this would be my first choice for daily wear shell but it sure works well for snow sports.

Absolutely would buy this again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good. The only complaint is about the zipped up front of the jacket at the chin. It's a bit too stiff and rubs my chin a lot. A neck gaiter helps. It might be better after more use. Outside of that minor complaint, it is doing absolutely everything as advertised! I'll test it vigorously the next two weeks.

Hopefully this jacket will also last 40 years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In 1971 I bought a north face down coat. It's still working well. The powderflow futurelight jacket fits over it a bit tight but still keeps out inclimate weather.

Great all mountain jacket that works 365 days a year

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I found this jacket to fit a broad range of needs ranging from skiing powder, skinning up in the backcountry and wearing it as a casual yet quite stylish option. I like the sealed zippers and the broad range of pockets all placed to carry everything you need and still feeling the jacket is a light option for any adventure. Great job North Face!
