The North FaceHedgehog Fastpack Hiking Shoe - Men's

Light and fast.

Despite its name, The North Face Men's Hedgehog Fastpack Hiking Shoe was not meant for shuffling along mellow trails—this lightweight hiker was designed for moving fast on technical trails. The PU-coated leather and abrasion-resistant mesh provides the right combination of toughness, breathability, and light weight, and the TPU quarter weld offers a stable, supportive feel. Cradle Guide dual-density EVA midsole cushions impact while providing additional support and an energetic feel. It's finished off with a Vibram outsole for optimal traction on wet or dry trails.

Laces Break

Just been wearing these at the office for a little over a month. The eyelets are sharp and tear up the laces if you tighten them too much. I wouldn't wear these in the back country. My last pair lasted a few years.

Comfortable all purpose

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I bought these shoes a little over a year ago for a trip to Thailand. They were perfect for the unexpected rain, walking on the streets, and trekking through the mountains. I continue to wear them in rainy or snowy days. They are comfortable for all day wear and stylish enough to not stick out as a hiking boot.

A pair a year

I walk allot for work and need a wider shoe, these did great, started showing signs of heavy wear at 10 months. They are now yard work shoes as a second life.

Alternative to a Moab

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 10

I typically get the Merrill Moab, but seem to wear out the heel cup on those too quickly. So far these seem a good alternative and slipping them off is easier so maybe that's the secret to longer life in the padding at the achilles.

Long lasting

These shoes last forever!! Love the vibram soles. Great for grip during hikes and disc golf. I have gotten 2 pairs within the last 2 years. They are the only shoes i wear.

Not comfortable

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I just got these shoes. Did a couple of walks around the neighborhood, totaling maybe 10k or so. Shoes have almost no cushion, and I can feel that on my knees. Also, shoes lack any midsole arch support. Overall disappointing shoes, especially for the price.
