You're free to be dry and comfortable.

The North Face created the Men's Freedom Insulated Pant with a regular fit that's equally as at home in the backcountry as it is in the terrain park, and the myriad of pockets easily accommodates your odds and ends as you shred. A waterproof and breathable, DryVent shell serves up protection from wintry conditions of all kinds, and a layer of synthetic insulation ensures you stay warm, even when wet. More specifically, The North Face equipped the Freedom Pant with 60g of Heatseeker synthetic insulation to lock in warmth on sub-zero days. However, if and when the sun comes out to play, the Chimney Vent cooling system funnels air from the StretchVent gaiters to the inner thigh vents to keep you comfortable all day long. And, to round things out, The North Face equipped this pant with reinforced kick-patches and edge guards to assure added protection from sharp ski or board edges and muddy parking lots.

True to Size

  • Size Bought: Medium tall

These work for me. Simple pair of snow pants that are not over-done. I am 6'0" 165 lb with a 34" inseam. The Medium tall was perfect.

Fit just right

Nervous at first, but tried it on fit right, true to size, would buy again

    Too baggy

    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium Long

I'm 6'2 185lbs (skinny legs). I ordered a Medium-Long and it was a bit short, a bit too baggy. I bought the Mountain Hardware Insulated Highball Medium-Long and liked it much much more.

    Great Pants For The Value

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

I usually try to stick to higher end outerwear from ski/snowboard specific brands, but I purchased these for an emergency trip thinking I would only use them for a few days. I was really impressed with their construction. The fabric is the thicker matte fabric I like and the heel reinforcement was thicker than some of my other "more expensive" pants as well. The insulation is not very heavy, which makes them useful for a variety of weather conditions. These are more of a loose fit (snowboard style, but not baggy by any means). Nothing beats Gore-Tex, but at more than 1/2 the price of a upper end pant overall I was super impressed. These will work great for 95% of days skiing/riding at the resort.

    Too baggy

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: medium regular

Nice pants but too baggy and long. I normally wear a medium but these were too wide in the legs and too long. I returned them.

    Fits the Bill

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large - Reg

Won't win any style points but they do what they are supposed to do. Wore for four days in Colorado with a Merino wool base layer. Temps ranged from single digits with wind to low 20's. Kept me plenty warm. The fit was good, not too baggy or too long. I'm a 35x32 and the Large- Reg fit fine although I did wear a belt. The Large would probably fit a 36 waist perfectly.

    Excellent Pants

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

My 2nd pair. You cannot beat the value, quality or features of these paints. I own a higher-end pair of Gore-Tex pants, but surprisingly these are my go-to when conditions are nasty. Additionally, the fit is great and true to size (unlike most board/ski clothes).

My only complaint is I should have waited for a deeper discount.

Good ski pants, but a little baggy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

A little baggy, but overall good pants. Keep wind and cold off of you all day.

    Just ok.

Pants came in late. When I ordered return label, Backcountry is charging me for the label to ship the pants back. Everyone else, especially Amazon, provides free returns when items come in late.

        WOW

These pants will keep you warm for sure. Just like any other TNF product, they do the job and do it well!

        Great Ski Pants

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These pants are very warm, durable, and comfortable. They have all the features I need and are my favorite pants for any skiing climate, whether it's well below zero or 40 degrees. I just adjust my base layers and vents accordingly. The sizing options for TNF Freedom Insulated pants are the best. I'm 5'-4" and a small short fits me perfectly.

        • Size Bought: Medium - Short

Bought these as a gift for my dad. He is from down south and did not get cold when he went skiing in Utah! The short option worked out great for him and kept his pants form getting torn up on when walking around the village.

        • Size Bought: Small Short

I selected this item because of the pockets, insulation and short inseam. Initially ordered the medium short due to reviews although the suggested sizing referenced the small short. I should've stuck with the small short because it is a perfect fit-- the medium was quite large.

I'm in my early thirties with a slim/athletic build and these fit with plenty of room for a base-layer.

Pretty cool as opposed to love it because there isn't a slimmer option.

I needed new ski gear for this winter and decided to try these out. These pants fit comfortably and are not too baggy. I haven't actually worn them yet in the snow but i'm hoping that they will be great.

        • Size Bought: Medium/short

Got these for my dad who already has these just wants another color! They are warm and he loves that they come in different inseam lengths because normally snow pants are too long for him. His last pair has lasted for a couple of seasons and are still going strong!

        Really great pant

My dad is NEVER satisfied with ski gear. Every season I try to satisfy his pains because he always complains about being cold, my attempts have always been unsuccessful. However, it seems the old man is finally happy! He tried these on and had an immediate grin on his face. Success. These are perfectly insulated, not too much not too little, they're stylish and they allow the perfect amount of movement. My mom has the same pair in women's and she loves them. Excited for my dad to finally be happy this year! He is 5'8" 150 lbs and the medium regular fit really well.
