Strafe Outerwear Temerity Hooded Jacket - Men's

Boldly shred where no man has shrod before.

Cut short and slim to provide unencumbered movement when you're on the skintrack, the ridge, or even the resort, Strafe's Temerity Men's Jacket is a waterproof, breathable, and bomber shell designed to handle whatever conditions you run into. Strafe laminated the rugged and mobile polyester shell to a highly waterproof and breathable Polartec Neoshell membrane, so you'll be sound as a pound when storms hit but won't sweat yourself stupid when you're slogging your way up a steep skinner. Extra-long underarm zips pull in extra air to keep you cool, and the removable powder skirt seals out pow and spindrift when the snow's piling up and the wind is whipping.

The Temerity is fairly straightforward, so there aren't many things that'll break or get in the way, but the features it does have are pretty killer, like the reach-through chest pockets that are compatible with packs and perfect for beacons, phones, and snacks. The helmet-compatible hood has a three-point adjustment system to seal out storms, and the hook-and-loop cuffs are lined with Lycra wrist gaiters to make sure nothing blows up your sleeves.

Great jacket - runs big

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Small

This jacket is chock-a-block with features and high-quality fabrics. Has just enough pockets for me, and comes in at a great price. I especially like the sleeve cuffs. If you need a mid-quality ski jacket, I recommend looking at this one.

My only gripe is that the sizing seems off. I'm 6'1 160lbs and the *small* fit best.

How much does this weigh?

Hey Tob, The large jacket without the powder skirt is going to weigh in at 760g. Let me know if you have any other questions or would like any help placing an order for one, you can reach me at my direct line 801.204.4547 or cojohnson@backcountry.com. Best regards, Connor

This Temerity jacket performed very well in a cold windy environment (15 degrees with 5 degree wind chill). It has no sleeve pocket so I placed my Epic Pass in the large front pocket. At the end of the day I realized that my pass was missing. I took off the jacket and realized that it had slipped out of the bottom of the large pocket which has a glued seem. Thankfully I did not lose anything else out of the 3 inch hole at the base of my pocket. I chose to try an up and coming small company with a great story. The design, function and materials are superior! I would have given this product a 5 star rating if it weren't for the pocket. I really liked the jacket so I wanted to keep it since it also completed my outfit. I contacted Zach at Strafe who immediately sent me a return label. Strafe repaired it and sent it back after about 8 weeks. I am excited to ski with it again as its fit and function were also superior. I also own the orange and light blue Cham Jacket and Pant. It is not only named after one of my favorite ski resorts in the world but I get complements on it all the time while skiing Colorado. The fit, function and materials are incredible and incredibly light and warm. I hate lined and filled jackets since they make me hot and sweaty. These jackets are perfect for a light base layer and or a light mid-layer. I still get hot but am not as sweaty as when wearing Gortex which feels like I'm suffocating in a large garbage bag. Polartec is the perfect material thus far.
