Stoic Merino Top

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: large

Fits great and warm. Great for skiing, snowshoeing and biking on cooler days.

Merino all the way!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium

I am slowly switching over to merino for all my baselayers because it's great at wicking moisture, doesn't hold odors as much as as synthetics, and won't outlive you in a landfill when you're through with it. This shirt has a very slim fit, which is nice for a baselayer, but I almost wish it had a little more room, especially around the armpits. Besides that slight issue, which keeps it from getting 5 stars from me, it's a great shirt!

Merino for Less

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

This guy is a great bang for the buck piece. It has all the great quality and performance that you expect from a merino base layer without breaking the bank. The stitching is high quality and the merino is not itchy. If you are looking for a lightweight, warm, and budget friendly merino top this is a great choice.

Good basic baselayer

Simple, good quality and true to size fit. A good base-layer for days at the local mountain.

    Why Pay More?

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium

The medium fit me great. This is a mid-weight wool top that is seems to be holding up well and is very comfortable. Warmer than my synthetic layers, but under heavy exertion it does not wick as well. I enjoy it for inbounds skiing. I don't see a reason to pay more.

    Stoic Merino

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

Don't let the lower price fool you- the Stoic Merino line is still great! I got a few of these tops as gifts for my family, and so far so good. It is a nice lightweight merino, soft to the touch, and not itchy at all. The fit seems to be right on point as well. All in all, if you're looking for a nice lightweight merino top, look no further!

    Nice base layer

Purchased this for my Dad, great price, light weight, soft material, true to size... enough said

      A nice base layer but...

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Size Bought: S

It didn't fit me well at all. The torso fit well enough but both the body and the sleeves were much too long.

      Good item

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small

Perfect size for a skinny guy like me, the sizing is true to size: 5.7ft, 35 chest, 29 waist.
Pretty warm enough to ride at 32 F with Polartec base layer and Castelli gabba in NYC.
