Ready for winter.

A well-insulated coat is a must whether you're braving another cold New England winter or prepping for a trip out west to your favorite ski town. The Stoic Women's Kenai Insulated Jacket gets the job done in both venues with thanks to a longer cut that brings the warmth down to your legs and water-resistant synthetic fill that won't lose its loft at the first sign of snowfall. Stuff your hands into the two handwarmer pockets during those chilly evening strolls to your favorite restaurant, and defend yourself against those bone-chilling breezes with the insulated hood before you leave to grab a night cap before calling it a night.

Updated Review - arm motion suggestion

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: XL

After getting some use out of it this past winter, the one thing that I would love to see updated is the arms. They do not allow much range of motion, especially when I sit down to drive a car. I find that my arms feel "stuck" when I need to reach forward, so when I first sit down, I have to remember to "hike up" the jacket a bit. If the sleeve/armpit/shoulder was designed with more range of motion that would be super helpful! Otherwise, I still dig it!

Very short

  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium

Nice color (silver motion is not metalic in any way), wonderfully light weight. The hips were a bit wide, but I could have accepted that since the seams/shape was curved. But it was so short! If it was just the sleeves I would have thought I just needed to size up, but the waist was up over my rib cage and the bottom did not cover my butt. I'm 5'10" - tall, but no amazon.

Great jacket!

Very happy with this jacket. The zipper goes up and down, which is great in the car or when you're seated. The sleeves were long enough. LOVE the hood, which actually stays on in the wind when fully zipped (not big enough for helmet or anything). I would consider this a 3-season jacket only (yes, I live in WA, we wear coats in the summertime). It covers my butt, is slim-fitting, blocks wind and just a great piece. NOT for very cold weather.

Lightweight & Packable

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: Runs large
  • Size Bought: Medium

The silver motion color, is quite blue, as pictured. It had more room in the hips than other hip length jackets I've worn. The hood is small, I had a hard time getting it to stay up. I think it would be a good choice for fall, or an emergency jacket to keep in the car or bring traveling. I purchased it on sale, and it is worth what I payed ($70, but I wouldn't pay list price for this quality. It ended up not being what I was looking for,

Bigger than Exptected

I like the jacket but it bells out a little too much for my taste. otherwise its warm and looks good.

MOM LOVES IT

Mom wanted a not so bulky insulating piece. She said this was exactly what she was looking for!

What size did you buy for your mother? I am the same height and weight. Thanks.

    Great!

Perfect! Hard to find a jacket this ling that will fit over my hips. This does! Not very thick, but it does the job!

    Initial fit impressions

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL

I am 5'5", pear shaped, and generally wear an XL. This makes it super difficult to find a long jacket that fits over my butt and hips. This one actually fits! So that's pretty darn exciting. Roomy enough to wear a hoody or sweater underneath it.

I would put this in more of a lightweight and packable category. It's impressively packable for being both long and synthetic, which makes it great for traveling.

    Nice jacket not warm.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

    • Size Bought: Med.

I live on the east side of Washington state. It gets cold so I was hoping this jacket could be part of my winter layers. It just didn't stand up it would be a great jacket for March weather but not December and while I am normally a size med. This jacket woud have been too small to layer a thick sweater underneath. I had to return it.
