Why We Built The Driftwood 2 Tent

Here to help you, and maybe a friend, escape the hustle and bustle of life in the city, we created the Driftwood 2 Tent. We wholeheartedly recommend setting it up by a gentle babbling brook, or perhaps on red desert rocks overlooking a stunning view, to recharge the soul. Since it only weighs 5.7 pounds, you're more than welcome to hike as far away from civilization as you can get to enjoy its intuitive and spacious design.

Awesome

I took it out this pass week and it did awesome. This is my first ⛺️, and for the price it’s pretty great. It’s not a two person tent though. I used my stoic cloud pad with it and it took up quite bit room. I had enough to put two bags in there and my shoes.

AWESOMENESS

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I really like this tent a lot. I am a gearhead myself and love the outdoors and own multiple tents (Big Agnes, MHW, Marmot, and MSR) for different adventures and seasonal conditions. You cannot beat the price and backed up with lifetime guarantee, love that about Backcountry products. Easy set up. The poles are the same on each end so you do not have fiddle around which way the poles go on the body or even the vestibule. Material is super solid. Winter camping could work with this. I seriously would bring this tent winter backpacking. Great coverage. Thicker vestibule to handle harsher conditions. Good clearance from the tent body with the vestibule with snow build up on the ground or rain upon. Good size vestibule, with both sides to store your backpack and shoes. If you want to blend in with nature, this would work better at a construction site. Just kidding. But it is very bight orange! But in some situations where you need to be visible, this is the perfect tent. Not a big deal for me. My external tie down worked great to add strength to the tent in a possible storm. I was able to equalize the 2 loops on the body with one anchor point. Inside has a lot of features. Double sided entry that opens the whole side panel, making it easy to get in and out and putting your pad in if pumped outside the tent. Storage is really nice on the mesh walls and ceiling. I like the gear loft attachment above, a bonus. Great head clearance inside the tent. Nice space inside even with x2 25inch wide Nemo pads. Good head room, did I mention that? I like the additional ventilation openings if you have to seal the tent up in a storm. Some minor suggestions and thoughts: I changed out the stakes, made it 5lbs total. You could make the tent slightly lighter with a lighter tent bag that it goes in without the bells and whistles of straps. No footprint, but use a tarp underneath. My only concern, the cross pole at the top from one door to the other door, I could see wearing a hole on the vestibule (not enough reinforcement of protection/ wear and tear), needs more reinforcement or have a piece of fabric with a hole that the pole ends attach inside to which will help minimize rubbing or wearing out the vestibule (near the top of the vestibule zippers). I cut out a cube foam and put a small hole in it to bud the end of the poles to give it more protection/less wear and tear on the vestibule. Well, that is my review. I would recommend this to anyone looking for great quality and affordable price point. It might not be the lightest 2 person tent, but it is still AWESOME!

Survived a summer storm!!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Loved the look of it, not the lightest tent out there but I used it for a few overnight hikes last summer and it was easy to set up! On one of my hikes we got a pretty heavy storm overnight and it held up pretty well! No leaks or anything!
