Stohlquist Amp Drysuit

Getting Amped.

It looks like spring finally sprung, and you're stoked to head out on the river to run some whitewater. The temps still put a chill in your bones, but that's what the Stohlquist Amp Drysuit is for. This suit keeps you dry and warm while you refresh your paddling technique. A Twin Sensor four-layer shell uses durable nylon fabrics, DWR treatments, and two waterproof membranes that repel water and remain highly breathable so you stay dry and completely comfortable even when you work up a sweat. Stohlquist made the neck and wrist gaskets out of Duraseal, which is a softer form of latex, and a neoprene coating ensures the gaskets remain breathable while they seal out the river's cold water. A MasterSeal zipper offers durable waterproof protection, and its cross-chest entry leaves room for the Gripp-Loc skirt tunnel that's compatible for your spray skirt.

An athletic fit leaves the Amp with a slight relaxed feel for full mobility that you appreciate on the river, and the wrists, ankles, and waist are all adjustable to give you a customized fit. Stohlquist reinforced the seat and knees with Cordura so you can kayak in this suit for a long time, and mesh drainers dump out any excess water that might get in the suit after an epic beatdown. Stohlquist also included drysocks with the suit that are sized to fit whatever size you order. And reflective accents keep you visible in case your kayak pops out of the water without you in it.

Did everything you could ask!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this suit to kayak rivers in the Southern mid west.
I've used it on two trips on the Buffalo River in Arkansas.
The medium fit me perfect. I'm 5'9" 160. Didn't need to trim the neck seal or wrists.
Wore a Ninja union suit and fleece shirt and pants under it and was warm down to 25 degrees. No leaks!
feet are kind of floppy. Wore trail hikers about 1/2 size over and they fit well.
On long stretches with lots of paddling I was warm but the suit wicked any sweat away and I felt dry.

Does this dry suit have a place to cinch and hide a skirt tunnel?

Is this a men's or women's suit?

Very nice fitting product

I ordered this suit for my sea kayak outings in colder weather and I'm very happy with the way it fits, the operation of the zippers, and range of motion.

I would recommend this to others as a nice alternative. I'm giving it four stars as my longest paddle has been 3.5 hours, and I haven't had a chance to put it through the ringer in rough water or on a day long paddle.
