Grail Pro Road Wheel

Disc-equipped road, 'cross, and gravel bikes continue to gain momentum and more and more riders are reaping the benefits. Key to Stan's reliable tubeless setup on all of its wheels and of course included here, is its patented Bead Socket Technology (BST). On the Grail's its optimized for tires ranging from 25 to 40mm wide. The Grail's BST-R shape is further refined for these narrower tires and higher tire pressures allowing for a wider PSI range than the standard BST rims. As with standard BST, BST-R features low profile sidewalls that allow for a better seat for the tire bead that doesn't constrain it which gives up precious tire width. It results in a super secure tubeless seal while allowing the tire to plump up to a greater volume of air than standard rims. The tire is able to reach a fuller shape for a wider, more stable rolling platform, a plus in every riding scenario.

This allowed us to confidently run up to 30% lower air pressure than on a standard clincher wheel for more traction, better handling, solid cornering, and better overall control. If you must, the rims are also compatible with standard tubes, and the lower sidewall still helps reduce pinch flat risk by reducing the amount of material present for the tube to pinch against. This means less time with flats and more time turning the wheels, regardless of the terrain.

The rims get laced to its Neo Ultimate hub set, whose smooth-spinning, oversized stainless bearings rotate on a stiff, strong, and swaged axle. Like the standard Neo, the Neo Ultimate places the bearings at a wider stance for a claimed threefold increase in strength compared to other hub designs. The Neo Ultimate's pawl count increases to six which cuts the engagement time from the standard Neo's ten degrees to a virtually instantaneous five degrees. Stan's laser-etched SealLock end caps allow for super easy installation and easy conversions.

The Stan's Grail Pro Wheel comes complete with Stan's yellow rim tape and valves installed for quick tubeless use right out of the box. The wheels also come with both rotor mount and three freehub options. Please note that the Grail Pro Wheel has a maximum recommended rider weight of 190lbs and a maximum recommended tubeless tire pressure of 110 PSI with 25mm tires and 55 PSI with 40mm.
