Must have in the shop or on the trail to reconnect the Eagle chain. Always keep extras handy.
A must when it comes to riding out on the trail. Keep in your pack just in case you need it. Make sure you have a multi-tool with a chain break on it.
Must have in
your trail maintenance kit! You will be so happy to have a master link when you bust a chain and are looking at a 7 mile walk back to the car. When you need one you need one! Keep one in your flat kit and you will be happy you did one day!
Always carry a spare link you just never know when you or someone else might need it.
It's generally not a great idea to reuse 12 speed SRAM master links. Do yourself a favor and pick up a four pack and use fresh ones instead. Throw one in your riding tool kit, or borrow a trick out of your favorite racer's playbook and tape one to your derailleur housing so you always have a spare.
If you're running an Eagle drivetrain, doesn't hurt to have a few of these for backup. Solid construction you expect from SRAM.
Good thing to have on a ride and works the way its intended. Good product.
A must have stashed/taped somewhere on your bike, can definitely get you out of a jam. Also important if you take the chain off your bike for maintenance as SRAM recommends not re-using them
I love the added insurance of carrying a spare master link with me on long rides. I actually carry a 10, 11, and now 12 speed master link just in case. I have been fortunate enough that I have not broken many chains, but I have been able to help out other stranded riders on 4 separate occasions. If you have a tiny fraction of space in your super enduro hip pack or your Camelbak or seat pack or whatever your flavor is, you should keep one of these on you. It WILL come in handy.
Saves the day when you break a chain.
Wouldn't leave home without one.
I never used to carry this, but I finally decided to bring it along. The second ride out with it, my chain broke. I was so glad to have this link so I didn't have to walk 10 miles out
So small that you won't even notice it is there. until you or your friend needs it. Then you'll be happy you thought ahead and that you are not hiking back out.
You will only break your chain once on the trail until you start keeping this in your pack. After one long walk back to the car I now always keep this in my pack! You won't even need any extra tools to install it.
This is a must have for anyone with SRAM Eagle!
I'd recommend carrying these with you on trail. It's so small it fits easily into literally any pack, frame bag, or pocket. If you're out in the backcountry and your chain breaks it's gonna be a bad time. One of these could save you a lot of unnecessary hiking some day and installation is quick and easy.
I always keep a spare master link in my pack. This one works great, keep in mind if you have a tool or pouch that has a dedicated spot for a master link, this might not fit because its curved. It does not work with my Industry Nine Matchstix
It's always nice to have the peace of mind that you're prepared on the trail and will be able to get home. Nothing worse than breaking down on the trail and not having what you need.
I always keep a spare link in my backpack when mountain biking, in case of a broken chain, save yourself the misery of a long walk back to the trail head.
Always a good think to have. It's nice that they come in the four pack. A few for at home and a few for the road. Also they look SICK!
