For reference, I'm a wuss in cold weather. I'll ride a pair of Rapha Pro Team Winter tights down to ~34F, then Velocio Zeros if I go out below that.
I was a little skeptical of these when I opened the bag: the front face is soft to the touch, similar to a pair of Assos bibs that I've found to not cut it below 50F, and I was worried that the Sportfuls would be lacking windblocking abilities. My first ride in these was trails and gravel in 35-38F and I'm impressed. Toasty warm until I got back on open roads with 10mph winds and only then did I feel any chill. These feel compressive like other Sportful bibs, but they've fixed the terrible straps from the Super Total Comfort shorts. You can't see it in the photos, but there's reflective dots from the ankles up the back of the calf. Fit is pretty lean: good length for me, but a bit tight around the thighs and waist.
One complaint: the seam at the top of the chamois is really thick and I could distinctly feel it across my bum when I stood out of the saddle. Hoping that softens up a bit with repeated use.
