Dan in New England Patriots Land

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 11

Most reviews said these ran big. I am usually between a 10.5 and 11...and they appear to me to run true in size. So, I will have to return and reorder.

The winter boot of your dreams

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: Runs large

I got these for my boyfriend, since he lives in a cabin in Big Cottonwood and didn't have any warm winter boots to wear while shoveling or chopping wood. He absolutely loves them! They're super warm (wool liners, duh) and still look stylish, despite being a bulky winter boot. They do run a little big though, so beware of that when deciding on sizing. My boyfriend wears a 9 in Vans and an 8.5 in most other shoes, so I originally got him an 8.5, but they were too loose. He sized down to an 8, which ended up being perfect for him. I suspect that people with wider feet might not have the same problem, though. I have the women's version of these myself, so I can vouch for the durability and warmth of these things. They're a bit too soft and bulky for snowshoeing or hiking, but they're perfect for a short walk in the woods or for the apres. Love these!

I've worn these around town, on my bicycle on very cold days, and on mild to moderate hikes in the Cottonwood canyons in various conditions. They're warm (although personally I doubt they'd be comfortable at -40, but I haven't tried). They're waterproof of course, and they get lots of compliments

I bought my normal size of 11, which is fine - extra room for thick wool socks, of course - but I definitely could have sized down to 10.5 and been fine. This appears to be pretty typical of Sorel boots from what I've seen.

These bad boys surpassed all my expectations. I really like the height of the boot. The eyelets are super sturdy and effective.
The felt liner is removable and I feel as if these fit very true to size... MAYBE a hair large.
