Size chart inaccurate

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Pretty annoying to measure my head and order the corresponding size and it’s too small. Seems like a nice helmet otherwise. Thumbs down for the hassle.

Smith vantage and nexus helmets

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I’ve skied in the Smith vantage for the past 10 years. I bought the same size and the nexus did not fit. Could not get the color I wanted in an extra large, so I went with the Vantage extra large that was too small as well? Sizing has completely changed for whatever reason? XL size WONT FIT EITHER. It’s the same as the large will have to go with another brand unfortunately

Highest Quality

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Maybe the best resort brain bucket available. It is comfortable all day. The vents work well. Feels burly enough to protect your coconut. The only downside is the price but in this case you do get what you pay for.

Comfort and Temp controlled

An awesome hat that I can wear all day on the slopes. Close the vents it warms the head. Open them and air flows through quite well. The vent can be dialed in to keep the head temp you want. Works great with goggles i like and use Shady Rays. No fogging. Haven’t tested the safety rating and hope to avoid it so I don’t need to buy another helmet. Pricy sucker. But I could see me buying this again if that test passes too.

Combine with the 4D Mag

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

A go-to helmet for years now, the Smith Vantage MIPS helmet combines comfort, ventilation, and a great look. It is IMPORTANT TO NOTE with the integration of MIPS, I found I had to size up from a medium to a large. Whereas I was a medium in my Vantage helmet from four or five years ago, with this new iteration, I had to size up to a large to get the same, comfortable fit as I did with the medium. That aside, the helmet fits and breathes just as well as the last I had. The BOA system allows you to customize your fit. The two sliding vents allow for great temperature regulation. And they integrate perfectly with the 4D MAG goggles. I went with the Matte Birch and would say the color is true compared to the picture.

Best Helmet

Awesome helmet. Stylish as well as functional. Lightweight, comfortable, being able to open and close the vents is awesome.

Comfortable with Great Ventilation

Decent enough weight, not too bothersome even on long days of skiing, I well tend to forget it's on my head. They fit very well with my Smith I/O MAG ChromaPop Goggles with no figment issues. Ventilation is great and the helmet provides a great degree of variation in venting with two separately operating vent actuators. Keeps you warm. The boa system helps get a great fit, try biggest gripe is that my ears start to experience some soreness after a bit with them on.

crazy small sizing

I ordered a small for me and a xl for my husband after measuring carefully. They were both too small. I have a pin head by any standard...I wear kids glasses and can easily fit my 7 year olds ski helmet. The small was too small...not sure who they are building this for, but they need to get their size charts aligned with the actual fit of the helmets. Come on Smith pull your socks up!

Best combo of weight and comfort

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Not the lightest, but pretty darn good. Backcountry? Sure, why not. Unless you have to have the lightest, which means you will sacrifice comfort. Me, I'll carry a few extra helmet ounces to guarantee comfort and safety. Frontside skiing, you won't find a better helmet. A bit expensive. I was initially annoyed by the price, but after a few days of skiing the price tag evaporated, and I was grateful for a piece of high quality gear. Lots of chatter out there about how it runs small. Not really true if you know the actual circumference of your head in cm. I was on the cusp of S/M and sized up to medium and fits well. No helmet is perfect. Worth the money.

Runs small

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Gave as a gift and he said it does fit a little smaller then he is use to. He got a large and could have used and XL
