Great Baselayer

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I bought one of these in January and skied for six weeks trying various layers to stay warm and still have the best mobility. The best combo was an under armour short sleeve short, the Smartwool baselayer and a Free Fly Bamboo Heritage fleece. Even at the coldest temps I was warm. I bought two more of these Smartwool baselayers.

Tops for cold weather fishing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my go-to base layer for fishing steelhead in Michigan. We start early in the morning, and temperatures are in the 20s. I add a second Smartwool t-shirt over this base to provide an effective cold barrier under my insulated waders. Unlike cotton-based layers, wool breaths as things warm up in the afternoon. Smartwood socks and thermal bottoms round out my gear.

So far so good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great fit and appears to be be quality craftsmanship. I will be testing in Iceland in early April, so performance has yet to be fully evaluated.

Great base layer

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought this for a ski week at Big Sky. Love Smartwool and this is no different. Very soft and comfortable. Lightweight but still very warm. Wore it 3 days straight and still no odor. Love it!

Definitely going to buy again

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I normally wear a medium but got a large cause I wanted a looser fit and to counter potential shrinkage. But also I'm not just using it as a base layer.
