Merino 250 Asym Bottom

Snow? Ice? Wind? Snowy, icy wind? No problem. With the Smartwool Merino 250 Asym Bottom, you don't need to worry about getting the chills because these baselayer bottoms stand up tall to freezing weather. The merino wool softly insulated your skin while still breathing and wicking moisture. To add to the comfort, these pants also have a wide waistband to fit well and decrease bulk when layered. Flatlock seams also prevent chafing, so you can be at your most comfortable when you're outside.

  • A comfortable, cozy baselayer bottom for cold days outside
  • Flatlock seams prevent chafing and irritation
  • Merino wool breathes, regulates temperature, and wicks moisture
  • Wide waistband offers comfort and less bulk
  • Slim fit with mid-rise waist

Holes Caused by Wool Moth

  • Fit: True to size

I wouldn't recommend this because it is difficult to maintain and not durable despite its high price. I have not used it at all (when I bought it I thought I would be traveling to Iceland but trip was cancelled) and it already has holes even if I put it inside zip lock container inside my camera dry box.

So warm!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs large

Overall a great baselayer for skiing. I'm always cold, but with these I stay toasty warm. They seem to run a little bit big, so maybe size down if you like a slightly more snug fit.

Toasty warm

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small

I picked up a pair of these for ski touring and they're perfect. Not too bulky, warm enough on cold mornings, but not too warm that I die of sweat on the hikes. Will most likely use them for running too!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

You honestly can't really go wrong with Smartwool. These merino bottoms are super soft and warm. They are perfect to wear under your ski/snowboard pants and are even slim enough to wear under jeans on those super chilly days. I would definitely recommend this base-layer if you want to stay warm this winter.

Bordeaux color is a little darker

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: M

This baselayer is awesome! The fit is so comfortable, and the material is great. They are warm, and a heavyweight layer without being too bulky. You can easily wear these under snowboarding gear without feeling like you have too many layers on. They are also full length, and reach all the way to my ankles. I got the Bordeaux color, and the color came a little darker than what was on the website, but they are still really cute. I would definitely recommend these.

    How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around fullest part of chest and back circumference.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
    High Hip:
Measure around high hip circumference approximately 3-inch below natural waistline.
Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of the hip.
    Arm Length:
With elbow bent slightly, measure from center back of neck, across top of shoulder, to elbow and down to wrist bone.
Measure along inside leg from crotch to ankle bone. Or using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
