Merino 150 Baselayer Bottom

Shoulder season has arrived—it's not cold enough to break out your heavyweight fleece layers, but you still need that bit of extra warmth to keep your body temperature regulated. The Merino 150 Baselayer Bottom is Smartwool's lightest merino layer. The perfect weight for when you step away from the fire and the first few snowfalls. The legging is built with merino fibers wrapped around a nylon core which provides the durability of nylon, while giving you that soft merino touch. Merino wool naturally resists odors and wick moisture, keeping the fabric fresh. The wide waistband hugs you comfortably for long days on the move, and the slim fit layers nicely under your shell pants.

  • Versatile lightweight baselayer for active women
  • Merino wool naturally repels unwanted odors and moisture
  • Nylon core increases durability for repeated wear
  • Wide waistband gives comfort and support during long days
  • Slim fit gives next-to-skin comfort and layers well

Great Base layer

I bought these as a gift and know the recipient was extremely happy with them. They keep them toasty warm and are very satisfied with the merino material. They are a slim fit, as most baselayers run. The Smartwool Merino 150 baselayers bottoms or tops are a solid choice

    Great Layer

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

Bought these as a gift for my girlfriend. I Was looking for something for her that was a little lighter for warmer days or longer spring days in the backcountry and settled on these. She hasn't been too cold or too hot. The merino makes them wicking, fast drying and breathable while the nylon makes them stretchy and comfortable!

Not As Great As Their Socks

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large

Was excited for these cause the company gets great reviews overall.
Super Itchy!! Also, not as much stretch as I'd like in Pants. Probably would work well for a skinner person.

    Classic Baselayer Bottom from Smartwool

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Smartwool's 150 baselayer bottoms are the bar all others are measured against and that's for good reason. They deliver every time - keeping you warm, comfortable and the anti-odor that wool naturally has is an added bonus!

      FINALLY!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: small

These are the softest, comfiest pair of baselayer bottoms that I own. I was looking for something that was really light, a more form-fitting, and comfortable. These fit that bill!

The wide waistband sits comfortably right above my hips and the pants are the perfect fit -- not too baggy and not too tight like athletic leggins. They are super warm and flattering. I only wish there were other colors than black.

For sizing, I have pretty big hips in comparison to my waist, and the small fit perfectly! Any smaller would have been too tight on my thighs/butt and a medium would be annoyingly loose.

      Thumbs up!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Xs

I have thicker legs so it was a bit tight but if you have thin legs and no butt xs is perfect! I only get this size so it actually stays on my waist! I love it and highly suggest it!

      How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
      Chest:
Measure under your arms, around fullest part of chest and back circumference.
      Waist:
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
      High Hip:
Measure around high hip circumference approximately 3-inch below natural waistline.
      Hip:
Stand with feet together and measure around the fullest part of the hip.
      Arm Length:
With elbow bent slightly, measure from center back of neck, across top of shoulder, to elbow and down to wrist bone.
      Inseam:
Measure along inside leg from crotch to ankle bone. Or using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
