Surpassing the standard.
Six Six One knows the standard ingredients for cycling helmets, but it also knows the risks taken by serious all-mountain and enduro rippers, so the Evo AM Tres with MIPS Helmet features some tech that goes above and beyond the typical roadie rig. Like with the non-MIPS version, this helmet is built with Contego foam, which absorbs a claimed 30% more impact energy than EPS foam, the industry standard. It's also got an adjustable visor, dialing retention system, and magnetically secured strap. It's key protective feature is the inclusion of a Multi-Directional Impact System (MIPS).
MIPS addresses the specific pressures of an oblique, or non-direct impact, by separating the outer shell from the inner, MIPS layer. In the event of an angled impact, the outer layer slides across the MIPS layer, dissipating rotational force to reduce brain deformation. Since the impact of cycling crashes tends to happen at angles other than 90 degrees, this added element of protection will likely come into play if you take an unfortunate tumble.
- All-mountain protection for your thinking muscle
- MIPS diffuses oblique impacts to reduce brain deformation
- Contego foam for 30% more impact absorption than EPS
- BOA dial retention system with magnetically buckling strap
- Adjustable visor for rain and sun protection

Super Comfortable Gelmet
Got this for my wife and I wear it every chance I get. Itâs comfortable, cool and the magnetic chin strap clasp could be more convenient. It has decent coverage but works with sunglasses (unlike some full face helmets) and ear buds
Comfortable and Cool
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
Great helmet. Super comfortable, light and plenty of air flow when riding on hot days. I haven't landed on my head yet but if I do this helmet feels solid. The adjustment cinched down nicely and makes it snug and comfortable. The visor is a little high and doesn't block as much sun unless I pull the helmet forward but it's really not a big deal. It's fairly light and easy to wear for periods of time.
