Frozen fish belong in your freezer. You belong in the river.

The fish don't complain when the whether gets icy cold, so why should you? Wear the Simms Men's Kinetic Jacket, and go catch 'em. PrimaLoft Gold insulation provides a superb warmth-to-weight ratio and maintains 96% of its warmth when wet, which is important when the river you're wading in would be ice if it weren't flowing downhill. A DWR treatment sheds moisture and means that, unless you take a dunking or the heavy stuff comes down, you shouldn't have to test out that insulation's warmth when it's wet.

Designed specifically with anglers in mind, the Kinetic features underarm and body panels made of Polartec Wind Pro stretch fleece for a superior range of motion while casting. Simms gave this performance jacket tricot-lined hand-warmer pockets and a zippered chest pocket to keep your essentials from taking a cold water bath. The Kinetic's low-profile, insulated hood keeps your nugget toasty and integrates with Simms' rain shell storm hoods.

Simms City

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

This is an amazing jacket for the fall/winter fishing season. The stretch panels underneath the arms allow for excellent range of motion for casting, and the Primaloft insulation does a great job of keeping the core warm.
The most unique part about this jacket is the the River Camo color was designed SPECIFICALLY for fishing to blend into surroundings while wading through rivers. Lots of smart people did lots of smart scientific things to develop this camo, and apparently it is very effective. Whether or not the fish see you less, it is still a boost of added confidence. Plus it looks cool.

Simms Never Lets You Down

  • Fit: True to size

Just like all my other Simms pieces, this jacket does what it is supposed to. Keeps me warm on the river and but had plenty of movement to do what I needed to. A nice layering piece for chillier days.
