Rogue Hooded Jacket

If you commute by bike, you already know how important it is to have functional, thoughtful clothing in order to keep yourself covered once colder days roll around. The team at Showers Pass know this better anyone, which is why it came up with the Rogue Hooded Jacket. This cycling-specific softshell is both comfortable and versatile. It fits just like your favorite sweatshirt, except that it shrugs off light precipitation, and it won't turn into a sweat rag once you get pedaling. Your morning ride to work just got a little bit better.

Showers Pass built the Rogue hooded jacket from a fleece-lined and waterproof softshell material. The 10,000mm waterproof rating means that it's as waterproof as most rain jackets, only way more comfortable. The fleece backing adds a touch of warmth, which makes it ideal for days when the mercury has dropped below about 50 degrees. And to continue this theme of warmth, Showers Pass also included an adjustable hood that fits over most helmets.

The Rogue jacket is cut for logging time on the bike. Naturally, this means that there's a drop tail for deflecting wheel-spray and to keep your backside covered from the elements. The core has a conforming fit in order to keep flapping to a minimum, even when you're in the drops. The sleeves have been cut generously long in order to accommodate a stretched out position over the hoods, and the wrist gaiters have thumb loops that keep the sleeves from riding up.

Further enhancing the functionality is a large zippered pocket at the back, which is accessible from the right side of the jacket. There's also reflective detailing throughout the construction that improves your visibility to motorists in critical low-light conditions. Lastly, there's a light loop by the back pocket that further enhances your chances of being seen.

The Showers Pass Rogue Hooded Jacket is available in four sizes from Small to X-Large and in the colors Black and Bark Brown.

  • Versatile cycling softshell built with both comfort and protection
  • Waterproof, breathable 3-layer construction keeps you dry
  • Semi-form fit keeps you fast while allowing room for layers
  • Drop tail adds protection against splashback on the road
  • Reflective detailing boosts low-light visibility
  • Thumbholes at the wrist gaiters cinch out the elements
  • Multiple pockets create storage for phone, snacks, and keys

Nice Jacket, Great Price!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Medium

Bought this couple weeks for a family vacation to San Francisco. Was perfect for the low 50's to low 60's foggy, windy weather of San Francisco & Monterey! Very comfortable, warm, and relatively lightweight jacket for packing on a vacation. I live in S. FL so, won't ever be riding in it but I'm sure will come in handy on cool winter days just to wear as a casual jacket. Runs a little small. I'm 5'5 143 lbs and usually wear either true race fit med jerseys or club/relaxed fit small jerseys. I bought med jacket and it was perfect. Sleeves were tad long but small would've been too tight under arms. Hope this helps.

Great jacket at a great price

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Large

I purchased this one of these a year ago in brown. It is very comfortable and looks great. The lining has a nice soft cotton feel great for spring or fall days. I live in south Florida so do not use it for riding locally. I use it as casual jacket mostly on trips to places north. With a sweater it would be good down to 25 degrees but mostly a 40-55 deg F type garment. I am 6’1” and 180-lbs and a large is perfect. When I saw them for $35 last week I got another one in black.
All my Showers Pass gear is top notch quality.

Nice hoodie for biking and on the subway

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a nice hoodie, i didn't have any of the quality issues of the previous reviewer. I bought it in black to match the charcoal rogue pants I bought for commuting. The colors don't quite match but that's ok. The pants and hoodie combination is great for my daily bicycle commute to work, about 20 miles a day round trip, combined with a one hour subway ride each way. It's a god awful 60 mile a day commute but I enjoy the 90 minutes on the bike and I love the time to read on the subway. The gear works great for biking, although the hoodie, in large, is pretty snug around my 34

Terrible Cycling Jacket

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

Terrible jacket; back zipper broke, thumb loops hurt, unadjustable hood for non-helmet activities, zipped collar chafes adams apple, no vents

Is this more of a winter commuting jacket or can it be used for hard riding where it breathes well and insulates in sub freezing temps?

Hey Alex,

This jacket is better suited for winter commuting and the 5000 g/m² breathability is pretty low if you are doing high-exertion rides and need a jacket that will breathe. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

Most Versatile Hoodie Around

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is an absolutely phenomenal Jacket. From fit, function, looks and durability Shower's pass has produced an excellent jacket for commuting or casual wear off the bike in cold and rainy conditions.

A semi-form fit makes for an active look on and off the bike, but allows ample space for extra layers. The hood is large and can fit over a helmet. An extra long back keeps water from crawling up where it is very much unwanted. The jacket is lined with a very comfortable but sturdy fleece which is warm, but breathable with a superb 3 layer construction. Water beads right off, even in a downpour and you'll be warm and dry no matter the condition. Finally the durability has been impressive. It's the jacket I wear most often for commuting, or off the bike on cold, drizzly or snowy days. Very little signs of wear and tear and I expect this will last me a very long time.
