    Silent stoppers

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Having run both Shimano metallic and resin pads, I prefer the resin pads. Lever feel between the two is similar, with a bit more modulation to be found with the resin pads. For lift served, repeated long descents look to the metallic pads. For more pedal powered riding these pads do a great job with the added benefit of being quieter, and providing a touch more modulation.

Great pads. Prefer Shimano brakes overall vs. other brakes on the market.

    Great pads

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Easy to install, great stopping power.

    They do the job

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

No one thinks much about brake pad until they wear out. Get a pair of these and get back on the trail.

    Long descents...no way

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These pads work for everyday riding. I live in Colorado, long climbs = long descents...If you ride in an area that has long steep descents go with the metallic pads you'll be much happier. They're not bad, just fade and wear quickly if you heat em up.

    Stop

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Resin pads are great with XT brakes, offering plenty of braking power without the squeal of metal pads.

For whatever it's worth; I run metal pads (J04C) my road bike and I've never heard so much as a peep from them.

    Quiet brakes are the best

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

My friends gave me a rash of **** because my brakes were so loud. Also, they found out that I actually used them. With these new pads my brakes quietly slow me down from mach speeds. Now if I could only silence the rear hub.

Lemme tell you about a little company called Onyx Racing and their 100% dead silent instant engagement sprag clutch hubs. They aren't cheap, or light, but they make any other high engagement "super hub" feel about as responsive as a Huffy.

    Resin to quiet those howlers

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

love that all I need to do is switch out to resin pads to quiet the squeal.

    Great Stoppers

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are great pads, work well and break in just fine...

    Replace your pads

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Easy to install and work as expected. No squealing so far!

    Stop Here

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are the pads you want to use if you have the brakes that these are compatible with. They'll help you slow down and stuff. Pretty straightforward, really.

    Work as Expected

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Pads work as expected and seem to have good wear time. I use them on my road bike with Icetech Rotors
