Stays cooler so you stay in control.

Shimano’s XT Brake Rotor, the SM-RT86, sets itself apart from Shimano’s lower-tier offerings through its use of an aluminum core to transfer heat away from the brake caliper. This, combined with the finned heat sinks in Shimano’s XT and XTR-level brake pads, combats heat-related brake fade. What that means in trail terms is consistent, reliable braking, even on long, technical descents.

    • A workhorse brake rotor for XC, trail, and all-mountain use
    • IceTech steel/aluminum sandwich dissipates heat
    • Aluminum spider further contributes to heat management

    arrived bent

Box was in great shape, no sign of damage, but the rotor was bent enough that it wasnt useable until I spent 2 hours bending it back into shape, which I couldve just done with the original.....

      Love 'em

        Love shimano rotors.

        Grate rotors!

        Awesome rotors, great value

You will have all the confidence you need going downhill.

          Awesome Rotors - Great Deal

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great rotors for the price. Fairly light weight, shed heat well and I think look pretty good too.

          Perfect.

Shimano is killing the stop game. Can't be beat!

            Sweet Rotors!

            • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought these as an upgrade to my Shimano Deore M615 brakes. They run cool and quite with the IceTech finned pads. They look great too! Highly recommend.

            Sweet Rotors!

            ice ice baby!!!!

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

            203mm on everything, wanna stop?

            Quiet and easy

The iceshield on these rotors keeps them very quiet even after hours of use on downhill runs. Easy to install.

              Great Rotor

These rotors paired with Shimano brakes are outstanding. If you want increased braking power, especially on longer descents, get these! Also- getting a larger rotor will help with increased braking power, just make sure you have the proper adapter for your bike if you’re increasing the size of the rotor. I would be hesitant to mix and match rotors and brake calipers of different brands (Shimano/SRAM/Magura) because of different rotor thicknesses…I would definitely recommend if you currently have lower end Shimano rotors or are just looking to replace your XT rotors.

                Go to rotor

                • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These are the only rotors I'll run on the mountain bike! Feel free to shoot me an email at jdraper@backcountry.com if you don't know which size is going to work best for you!

                New rotors are the best!

                • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Having new rotors AND new brake pads is like having new brakes.
                Love it!

                super reliable

                • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

For the money the XT rotors can't be beat. great longevity, great braking power, have not had any heating issues. Highly recommended.

                Reliable Quality

                • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I usually use SLX rotors but these work great too for not much more money. Are they lighter, faster, better? Probably, I don't know, the difference isn't too noticeable for me personally but if you are heating up your brakes frequently, these should dissipate that heat better.

                Stopping Power

If your using 6 bolt hubs these are the shimano rotors of choice.

                The Best!!!!

                • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

If you are using Shimano brakes, you better use their rotors! They work the best.

                Buy Shimano

                • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

If you want your bike to stop...buy these. EASY to maintain too....
                Nuff said...

Without a doubt the most reliable brakes

These are my second pair. I replaced some SRAM brakes on my first bike and now I just replaced some SLX brakes on my new bike. My rider weight is 235 so I need a good brake that doesn't fade on the down hills. This brake has good modulation, power, and I love the one finger lever action. Pair these with the XT rotors and you have a match made in heaven. Did I mention they are also quiet? Well they are! For an all mountain/ Trail brake these will work just fine. They aren't as heavy duty as the Zee or Saints and also not as heavy. If you aren't a down hill rider on weight more than 235 than these will work just fine.
