TL-BB13 Press Fit Bottom Bracket Removal Tool

When bottom brackets begin to act up, it can put a damper on the polished image of your beautiful carbon bike climbing in springtime canyons; and simply trying to pedal low-force at a cadence of 120 isn't a longer-term solution. Luckily, the Shimano TL-BB13 lets you wrench from the comforts of home and hammer out your old press fit bottom bracket cups (mallet not included).

Tool fell apart on first use.

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The tool consists of a metal rod with a small rubber band and three small metal parts held around the metal rod with the rubber band. The rod goes through the bottom bracket and the three small metal part jam again the bottom bracket bearing. You then have to strike the metal rod with some force with a mallet and eventually the bottom bracket pops out. When I did this the metal rod flew across the garage and when it struck the floor the rubber band and the three small metal parts separated from the rod and I lost vital parts. The tool is no longer usable. The tool needs to be redesigned in a more fool proof way - at least in my case.
