Made for you.
If you're tired of being the one guy on your group ride who's constantly adjusting dials and straps in the hopes of making your shoes feel bearable for a few miles, we have good news. While cycling shoes are rarely associated with being accommodating or wide, some, like the Shimano SH-RP9 Wide Cycling Shoes, are available in wide widths.
Aside from the novel fact that they'll allow you to have full circulation in your feet throughout your ride, the SH-RP9s have plenty of other redeeming qualities. A carbon composite sole provides you with a stiff platform for power transfer to the pedals, earning a rating of 11 out of 12 on Shimano's stiffness scale, while a heat-moldable EVA insole provides a secure heel cup and arch supports to fit either a low or high arch, depending on which works best for you.
The soft, breathable synthetic leather upper achieves many of the same characteristics as leather. The shoes' contoured fit comes courtesy of two hook-and-loop straps and a top ratcheting buckle that you're able to reposition higher on the body for a more secure fit.
- Q & A
Hi, I'm trying to work out sizing for the shimano road cycling shoe SH-RP9 wide. There seems to be three sizes available in the wide category: 48EI, 48SI and 48. Can you explain the difference please? Regards Drew
I love it
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: True to size
Great shoe fits well, I have wide feet and Shimano wides fit me the best. Sole is very stiff and very comfortable.
