The Shimano Di2 Internal battery charger makes charging your Di2 electronic shifting system a snap. With its indicator lights that tell you when it’s charging and when it’s fully charged, you don’t have to guess. Plus, a full charge takes just 1.5 hours. But don’t worry too much about missing a charge—your system will only need to be charged every couple months.

Buy 2

Di2 shifting is GREAT ... until you run out of batteries -- then you have a long, hopefully downhill grind home. So don't repeat my mistakes, buy a spare and keep your shifters charged and ready!

Easy to use and keeps the di2 batteries charged up.

    Unanswered Question

The chart show two part numbers for chargers. Is this part SM-BCR1 or SM-BCR2? Am I right that there are two different parts depending an on external or internal battery?

    must have

if you have di2 you have to have it. simple to use.

      love it

Like that it's not too bulky. easy to charge.

      Quick and reliable

Admittedly, having to charge your bike is kind of a bummer, but at least Shimano made it easy with the USB compatible charging cable that let's you use any DC adapter you have for other devices (like an iPhone) and use those for your bike as well.

Works great, but use the right adapter

Works great, but you must use the correct A/C USB adapter. According to Shimano, it must be rated 5V, and equal to or greater than 1 amp. My wall plug was 500 milliamps (1/2 amp) and it would not fully charge before shutting off. I used an Apple phone charger USB plug which is rated at 1 amp, and it fully charged. Seems like it shouldn't matter, but it does.

I bought a shimano ultegra 6870 Di2. When I started charging the battery, the charger battery indicated a yellow lignt. After 2 hours the light was off. I thought it was fully charged but when i checked the E-tube Di2, it was still red. Normally, after 1.5 hours, the battery should be fully charged. Please help

I had a similar problem with partial charging. The box would indicate charge complete, but the indicator light flashed green indicating 50% charge, and it would last only a couple of weeks. After researching the Shimano docs, I found that the A/C adapter you plug this into must be rated 5V, and equal to or greater than 1 Amp. My wall plug was 500 milliamps (1/2 amp). I used an Apple phone charger USB plug which is rated at 1 amp, and it fully charged.

        plug and play

pretty simple.. plug it in and walk away.

          Great unit.

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

All you need to charge your di2 E-tube Cockpit junction box. It also works great to keep your di2 system up to date with the lastest firmware. Just plug it to you bike and your pc, download the lasted Shimano software and follow instructions.

Does the battery charger come with the USB connecting cable and/or wall outlet connecting cable? If not, is the connecting cable from the power source to the battery charger a standard/universal plug type or is it proprietary?

Jeff, it doesn't include the mini USB needed to attach it to the computer or wall. Surprisingly, Shimano doesn't actually make one BUT it is the same charger I use for my GoPro, Camera, and various cellphones.

          good cost, service

            backcountry, thanks~
