Great Suit That Stays In Place

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

I bought this for my mom because she needed a nice one piece to wear surfing. She loves it because it's a pretty feminine suit that stays in place when she's out on the water. Also, the chest material is a little thicker which is nice for coverage and for a little extra warmth.

She loves it

I bought this for my wife, here is her review -

I love this suit! The fit is so flattering and it feels good not to feel like everything is exposed at the pool. I love the long sleeves for the sun protection. I can't recommend this suit enough!

Ginger Skin Protection!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: Medium

So, I am a ginger kid. I HATE sunscreen, but it is a necessary evil in my life. When I started seeing these suits, I loved the somewhat retro design and cute colors. The price was a factor, but I decided to take the leap. I'm so glad I did. The suit fits very well and is very cute to wear. I feel adorable, which is a feat when everyone else at the lake is wearing skimpy string bikinis. Anyways, I sail and paddleboard, so I'm out in the sun much of the summer. This was a great buy.

awesome for spending all day outdoors

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: Large

This is the perfect suit for people that love to spend all day in the water without having to worry about putting on sunscreen all the time.

About the fit:
- I would disagree that people that are used to vanity sizing are the only ones that would find this runs small. I think it's less about your "size" and more about your body type and what you find comfortable. I live overseas so I am used to slimmer Euro cuts/sizing and I don't think I have ever worn a size large.

- If you have a slim body frame -- muscular or otherwise, and/or are petite and/or like your suits to fit tight like a wet suit, then this might run true to size

- If you have an athletic body frame and/or are curvy and/or tall and/or like your suits to fit snug but not skin tight, then you may want to size up.

- I tried on a size Medium, and while it fit, I found the Large to be much more comfortable. I don't like feeling like I'm peeling off a wet suit -- especially when it's wet -- at the end of the day. The large fit my body snug without feeling too constricted.

- The suit is double lined but if you have a larger chest you may want to wear a bikini top underneath. I'm a C cup and found the top to be supportive but I probably could have used a bit more lining in that area. It wasn't a huge issue with me, I still wore it without a bikini top, but I can see how if you have a larger chest this may not be an option.

- I consider myself to have a very athletic body frame with broad shoulders, muscular arms and legs, and narrow waist and hips. Generally speaking, street clothes rarely ever fit me perfectly off the rack. I have learned that finding the right fit is less about the size on the label and more about one's level of comfort while wearing the garment.

Overall this has been my favorite purchase this summer. It's probably the most comfortable, stylish, and protective suit I own, and on top of that, it's made in the USA! I will definitely be buying another!

Great for surf!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: small

I love this suit- the material feels amazing, and you won't get sunburn on chest or back. It looks cute. I kind of wish it was shorts on the bottom, that would be a bit better for surfing but it generally stays in place. I'm buying another one since it's so hard to find good surf suits. I alternate this and my 9" hurley boardshorts. I find it to run true to size. maybe if you are used to more vanity sized products you would find it to run small? I'm 5'5 123lb but very muscular. Oh, and I don't wear anything underneath. it is doubly lined so there is no need. i hate soggy padding in my swimsuits.

Super cute

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: large

I bought this suit to take with me to Africa to keep me protected from the sun as my medication will make me more sensitive to burns. The suit itself is feels very soft, but durable and made of high quality material. It is very flattering and feminine but functional, you could wear it with some shorts or a skirt as well to walk around in. The only negative is that there is no modesty in the bust, I would recommend wearing a bra underneath if you feel necessary. I would size up as well. I am always a size medium but got the large and that it fits snug and perfect.

Does this suit have any bust support?

Hi Sarah!

This suit does not have any bust support. This one-piece is a hybrid of the rashguard and a bikini bottom in one! So, similarly to how you would most likely wear a bra under a rashguard, many girls wear a bra top under the Hermosa. It is actually more comfortable to wear your own bra, than a built-in shelf bra because the top can move more freely from the bra - especially because of the sleeves. Believe me, I've tried a shelf bra rash guard with sleeves and I didn't like it. This suit is lined from top to bottom, front to back, and if you have smaller bust, you may feel fine without a bra because the suit is very fitted, but most girls like to wear a bra for extra support and modesty. Hope that helps and that you enjoy this suit! xo

My favorite thing I own!

I now own three of the Hermosa surf suits, and if I could wear them every single day, I would. These suits feel like butter, and are insanely beautiful. They are comfortable for all-day wear because they dry quickly, and you can layer them under a skirt or high-waisted shorts when you're ready to leave the beach. I pack these on every adventure because they work for any water sport, offering full coverage that still looks sexy, and amazing sun protection for your arms and back. I get so many compliments, I'm ready to be spokesperson! Do yourself a favor—stop thinking, and buy. You won't regret it.

Best suit ever.

This Seea suit motivates me to go paddling boarding, I'm so in love with the design, color, fit and function that I want to wear this piece all the time!

Design - This piece is pretty! The design is a simple retro print and has a fun vintage flair to it. Seea is definitely the most fashionable swimwear I've came across, all their pattern combos are beautiful and different.

Color - The colors on the suit are vibrant and bold, like you can see in the photos. I've washed this suit multiple times now and the colors are holding up very strong.

Fit - I purchased the XS and do agree that the fit of this suit runs a little small. This suit has a very fun flattering cut and fits tight against my skin but doesn't feel restricting. I've worn this suit all day and was perfectly comfortable.

Function - I purchased this suit for paddling early mornings or late evenings when the weather is chilly and it's worked perfectly for me. The fabric is super soft and also thick, keeps me warm. This suit feels extremely durable and seems like it will last for years to come.

Best suit ever.

Undiscovered Brand: Seea Swimwear!

Like many young girls in Italy, Amanda Chinchelli dreamed of growing up to be a fashion designer. Years later, she discovered surfing while on vacation in the Mexican beach town of Puerto Escondido, and fell in love with the sport. She eventually settled in SoCal, where her passion for surfing and design inevitably merged. Unable to find swimwear that satisfied her need for both Italian style and surf performance, she began stitching up her own designs. Other surfers noticed, and requests for custom suits began rolling in. Chinchelli dove right in, and Seea was officially born. Locally crafted in California, Seea swimwear blends retro design elements with contemporary prints and beautiful Italian fabrics. But it never loses sight of the chief goal of performing in the surf?or during a SUP yoga session. The Hermosa Surf Suit delivers the protection of a rashguard, yet still achieves a sexy silhouette. We?re thrilled to have discovered a line of swimwear that is as elegant, graceful, and seemingly effortless as the act of riding a wave.

Does this suit provide UPF? How much?

Hey Mar!

I checked out the SEEA website, and this product is rated UPF 30-50+ Why the different ratings you ask?

Here is the explanation directly from SEEA:

"Nearly all of Seea's suits released starting in December of 2013 carry a UPF rating of between 30+ and 50+. UPF 30 means that if 30 units of UV fall on the fabric, only 1 unit will pass through because the fabric blocks or absorbs the rays, making it about 96.7% UV protective.

Some of our swimsuits usually involve at least two to three different fabrics, often from different manufacturers, so it's tough for us to issue a specific rating for every single suit across the board. Please remember that protection rating can be decreased when the fabric is wet and that the UPF protection rating may be decreased on light colored fabric. We do not feel comfortable posting "average" ratings on our site for each suit because of the sensitive and important decisions some of our customers need to make.
