Like the most gracious host: warm and incredibly accommodating.

Some of your backpacking buddies consider overnight treks in the shoulder seasons as some form of suffering, but all you feel is lofty warmth when you tuck in the Sea to Summit Trek TKII Sleeping Bag at night. Suitable for summer's chilliest nights and autumn's dropping temps, the TkII retains a slim weight barely exceeding two pounds thanks to its minimalist-minded design. Despite that design, this bag still boasts phenomenal features like the Ultra-DryDown treatment that helps the bag's down insulation retain its lofty warmth when you camp in moisture-riddled environments.

  • Midweight sleeping bag for three-season backpacking
  • Lofty down insulation assures warmth in shoulder season temps
  • Ultra-DryDown treatment retains warmth in damp environments
  • Well-structured hood with draft tube for comfortable coverage

down is very unevenly distributed

The down in large sections of this bag is non-existent. There is no way that it would be functional to 18 degrees. My 35 degree bag has more loft in it than this. Its past 30 days since i ordered it, and I've taken off one of the tags so i can't return it!

    Great gift.

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought this for my son who is an avid camper and backpacker. He was very happy with it. I can only vouch for the shipping and service which was excellent. I have bought from Backcountry before and they have always handled things well.

    Love It

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I originally ordered the regular but due to my broad shoulders and claustrophobic tendencies I exchanged it for the regular wide. I’m so glad I did because it was a dream to sleep in. It got down into the lower to mid 30’s and with a good sleeping pad I wouldn’t be afraid to push the 18° temperature rating. I would also like to give backcountry 5 stars as well. Their customer service is by far one of the best I’ve ever dealt with. I will most definitely shop their site for future purchases. Thanks backcountry!

I am really impressed with this guy as it actually kept my wife warm on a backpacking trip at 8000 feet. Super lofty and cushy feeling I think I was most impressed with its weight and packability when considering it seems to have a pretty durable face fabric compared to other backpacking sleeping bags these days. Great attention to detail such as the coolest storage sack design I have ever seen.

Can you zip two of these bags together?

    Sleeping in a Dream

This thing is, for reals, like sleeping in a cloud. I took it out this weekend, and it was incredibly comfortable. Not only is the down incredibly warm, but the inside is quite soft. To top it all off, the stuff sack compressing this thing down to about the size of a softball, which is so nice to stowing on the go. Something I really like about it, is that it had a different zipper for just the footbox. Because of that, you can super easily manage heat, without having to unzip the entire bag. Definitely worth the money, and I'm really excited to keep using it.
