You and your Scott Superguide Carbon Ski Boots have a bright future filled with powder-filled tours and big, backcountry descents. Scott designed the Superguide for the skier that would rather ski boilerplate in the backcountry, rather than shell out three bills to stand in lift lines for nearly an hour just to ski elbow-to-elbow with tourists and park rats. The Superguide is a dedicated backcountry boot with a stiff flex, excellent cuff rotation, and a Gore-Tex liner to keep your feet dry, no matter what.
Scott has been producing some serious backcountry boots ever since the company acquired Garmont a few years back, but with a Gore-Tex liner, carbon inlays, and an aggressive 125 flex, the Superguide is anything but a rehash of old Garmont Designs. Skiing in the backcountry means you'll be spending about 90 percent of your time going up, so the 60-degree cuff rotation will be a welcome companion when you're setting an efficient skintrack. When wind-scoured ridgelines make skinning sketchy, and somewhat impossible, the aggressively lugged Vibram sole will come into play to give you the traction needed to gain the summit safely. And when it's time to rip skins and point your skis down, lock the three Ergal buckles down, secure the power strap, and step into your tech bindings with confidence thanks to the Dynafit-certified tech inserts.
