The S1 fleet is a new offering from Scott's Freeride Ski Touring line, designed for ripping big lines in the alpine. Constructed with a Grilamid and carbon shell, the S1 Carbon Boot offers strength and power in a relatively lightweight package. The 130 flex suits aggressive skiers looking to charge hard, with a 101mm last that fits medium to wide feet.
The ski/walk mechanism on these kicks is pretty unique, situated in the front rather than a lever on the cuff. This original, unique design aims to increase the stiffness in downhill mode while maintaining a solid 60-degree range of motion on the uphill. The fully replaceable soles increase longevity after a full season of tricky ascents through scree fields and rocky ridges, and the front entry system makes for easy on and off, even when you accidentally leave them in the frozen car all night.
