    Smart protection.

The Scott Grenade EVO Knee Guards provide a nearly unicorn-like balance of flexibility and protection so you can dust off and get back in the saddle after things get a little bit too sideways. Their D30 padding utilizes what Scott refers to as "intelligent molecules" to remain flexible for comfort and free range of motion while pedaling or generally moving around in the world. Upon impact, those molecules lock to create a rigid surface that dissipates energy and provides a sturdy barrier against roots, rocks, and other trail furniture. A combination of neoprene and stretchy, breathable mesh completes the package, with adjustable elastic straps holding it all in place so you can focus on the run without worries of shifting pads.

    • A knee pad that blends flexibility with protection
    • Flexible D30 material hardens on impact
    • Additional padding protects commonly impacted areas
    • Perforated neoprene and mesh balance support and breathability
    • Hook-and-loop elastic straps dial in the fit

    Excellent quality fits great

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

These will work great. I’m a big guy 6’’2” 24” thigh so needed some big pads. These seem to fit great. Still need to take for few rides but excited about the quality so far.

How do you clean? Can I throw them in the washing machine?

Hey Scott, the best way to clean knee pads is to let them soak and hand wash them with soap and water. Washing machines have a tendency to tear these guys up and deform any padding that is not removable. If you have any other questions feel free to reach out via the information listed above.

Comfy pads that do their job

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I took these on a week-long trip to Whistler and they held up well. They're comfy and I pretty much forgot I was wearing them while riding. They can get a little hot, but not any hotter than similar pads I've worn. I've only done lift access riding in these pads, so I can't really comment on the pedaling comfort, but they seemed fined while pedaling from the car to the park. Some pads have difficulty staying put on your leg, but not these pads. The lower strap is designed to run over the top of your calf muscle, which prevents the pads from sliding down. The best part about these pads is that they do their job--I had one hard crash and the pads worked flawlessly.

I'd totally recommend these for anyone doing lift access riding. If you plan on doing a lot of pedaling, I'd look for something a bit lighter.
