The classic is back.

Lace up the Mago Climbing Shoe as you get ready to send your latest project. Scarpa designed these shoes with Vibram XS Grip2 rubber so that you can weight your feet on those dime edges while gracefully clipping a quickdraw. The asymmetric shape assists with precise footwork, allowing you to pin your foot on tiny footholds with efficiency. For lasting comfort and support, the suede and microsuede upper is form fitting to allow the shoes to fit your feet easily once broken in.

My Least Favorite Aggressive Shoe

I decided to give scarpa another chance after buying and being disappointed with the Vapor V. The magos didn't need a lot of time to break in and fit well but were uncomfortable enough to have to be removed after climbing a route. The sensitivity was sub par and I was disappointed with how soft the overall shoe was. It couldn't toe or heel hook well. I wouldn't suggest buying it and expecting to improve on limestone climbing. Sizing: I'm a US 10.5 street shoe and wear a 41 EU in La Sportiva and bought a 41.5 EU Margo and fit perfectly.

Steep game changer!!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I have not owned any shoes with this aggressive of downturn profile before the Magos and I wish I would have done so sooner. My toe sticks to whatever I put it on with ease in these. I only break them out for steep Boulders and Sport routes and they make a huge difference. I have 9.5 street shoes and bought them in 41 which is a half size bigger than I normally go for climbing shoes. This was key as they are SNUG with the extreme downturn. They broke in fairly quickly too which was nice because the first couple times using them I could only handle one Boulder before taking them off to give my feet a break. Lastly I will say I have no qualms with the heal at all as I know many say there is a lot of dead space. It?s snug and heal hooking is no problem for me. 100% recommend!!
