Scarpa Kailash GTX Hiking Boot - Men's

Life-long hiking partners.

It's no surprise that the Scarpa Men's Kailash GTX Hiking Boot continues to be a fan favorite. The breathable, waterproof Gore-Tex membrane and Gore Performance Comfort lining keeps you nice and dry while fighting through snow, sleet, and rain on those precarious ridgelines. Scarpa slightly tweaked this year's edition, revamping the suede upper for enhanced flex and mobility without sacrificing a stitch of support. Additional cushioning is found in the new Comfort-Flex Plus polyurethane insert to keep your dogs from barking before you've even made it halfway. Engineered for mountain domination, the Vibram Hi-Trail II outsole is armed with trail-specific lugs that ensure unbeatable traction, push-off, and braking for when the ground gets shaky and unpredictable. When on high, the weather is erratic and subject to change at the drop of a hat, so the built-in protective toe rand and bi-directional ankle flex come in handy when you have to frantically scramble down over loose scree in search of safer ground. The unrivaled combination of Gore-Tex and Vibram technology promises that this boot only quits when you do.

Love and Hate

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Definitely a great boots for mid to short hikes. Fits and performs perfectly, but not on rather long distances. After around 10 miles it feels like I'm walking naked on a flat concrete floor, so I just must switch to my Salomon X Ultra 2 GTX. Hat trick won't work when you're in a deep snow though. So yeah, I love 'em and hate 'em for causing me a bit of pain during winter, when I just can't switch to something lighter.

Scarpa GTX boot Kailash

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 44

This is my 3rd set of Scarpa Boots. Most boots last me less than a year. I wear them to work every day. Lineman. These boots last me almost 2 years and are the best boots I have ever had. I have been through a ton of boots. Scarpa boots quality are 1st rate and they are light and comfortable. Even after 2 years and the vibram soles are just about worn flat they still are bone dry walking through 3" of water. I use them backpacking as well and we go on over 8 backpacks a year. Super boot!

Better than tennis shoes!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
  • Fit: Runs small

I bought these for my husband and he says they are more comfortable than his tennis shoes. Runs small so order a 1/2 to one size up.He can either wear these to work or wear out since they look nice.
