Please take the time to carefully package your returns. It is the responsibility of the customer to pay costs related to the repair of returned items damaged in shipping due to improper packaging.
We use UPS to ship internationally. Why? Your package is insured against theft and loss, and you get tracking information that tells you where your package is and when it will arrive. Backcountry also uses USPS as a shipping option to Canada only.
Calculate International Shipping Rates
To see what you will be charged to ship internationally, add the item or items to your cart and then proceed to checkout (don’t worry—proceeding to checkout doesn’t make you obligated to purchase anything). Enter the address in the billing and shipping fields. Once you change the country, the page will show you the shipping charges.
Customs, Tariffs, Duties
Shipments outside the U.S. may be subject to tariffs, duties, value added tax (VAT), etc. Please note that:
- These costs are your responsibility
- They are not included in shipping charges
- The shipping company (UPS) will charge customs fees
- Contact your local customs office for more information
Be aware that if you refuse a package that has been received at your local customs office because you will not pay the tariffs or taxes, we will deduct the shipping and additional fees required to return the package to us from your refund of the product.
Brand & Country Restrictions
While there are a few countries we can't ship to (including Argentina, France, Russia, and most African countries), we can generally ship nearly everywhere around the globe.
Due to contracts with certain brands, we are unable to ship them outside of the US. If your order includes non-qualifying items we will contact you and cancel your order. However, it is permissible to order products from these brands with an international credit card and have it sent to a US address.
