Salomon’s new Stance series came to fruition from the demand for a ski that's simply designed to charge in all conditions. No flimsy lightweight carbon layers or short turn radii to be found here—Stance skis are meant to rip fall-line at speed without hesitation. As the widest in the line, the Stance 102 is equally at home in firm snow as it is knee-deep powder, thanks to its modestly sized 102mm waist. When you’re ripping steep groomers or buffed out chalk, the metal twin frame laminate offers bomber dampening and stability to ensure the ski drives when it's supposed to without any tip-chatter or unexpected feedback. If you’re standing in line for first chair listening to avalanche control bombs cracking, the Stance has your back from first tracks to chopped up afternoon crud thanks to rocker in the tip in tails which provides float and enhanced maneuverability in tight spaces. Titanal layering through the length of the ski ensures adequate stiffness, especially noticeable in the tail as you edge into firmer snow conditions at speed.

Suprisingly quick, damp and solid.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Just demo'd a pair today at Alta. I wanted to ski the Stance 96 and 90, but none were available. So took out the 102 on a sunny spring day. Conditions were hard pack and some set up crud. I was very impressed at how well these skis held up on the hard pack groomed runs. Great edge grip and very quick edge to edge. Could easily get them to carve short radius GS turns but also were super stable and high speed , no chatter, nice damp feel. Also, great easy turns in the crud. Very fun quick turns and solid feel. This would be a great all mountain option. Looking forward to see how the 90 and 96 compare.
