Lo Fi Snowboard Boot
Designed to provide you with perfect comfort and response as you tackle the entire mountain with a freestyle-minded approach, the Salomon Lo Fi Snowboard Boot uses a new Mutation construction that highlights key areas and gets them to work together to optimize performance and maximize comfort. This pairs with the Dual Boa closure system with H3 Coiler Reel that delivers, well, zonal lacing to customize your fit one zone at a time and eliminate painful pressure points.
As performance-driven as it is comfortable, the ShadowFlex liner uses thermo-moldable Custom Fit foam to increase comfort and foothold as it contours to the natural shape of your foot. Sensifit panels ensure a precise fit that holds the foot from the midsole to the laces comfortably, while the molded TPU SpringBack spine delivers a precise and reliable flex. The Ortholite C3 footbed creates a cooler, drier, and better-cushioned home for your foot that won't break down over time and is built to maintain its cushy comfort. Salomon installed a watertight neoprene seal around the lower foot for waterproof protection in the deep stuff, and rounded the Hi Fi out with an ultralight HiFive EC+ outsole for exceptional rebound and comfort.

Laces! Reliable Buy Them Anywhere Laces!
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Not gonna lie, I trust the BOA systems and have used them for years on cycling shoes without issue, but when it came to replacing my forever old Burton Hail snowboard boots, (don't look them up, they are super old and I am ashamed)
I really just wanted to stick with a lace-up system, even though it is slower and less convenient, there is just something about laces that I trust. Anywho, I have a few days in these and wanted to write a review.
First, I am a size 9 in everything (casual shoes). I have tried 8.5 in various brands but always go back to 9. With that said, I took the advice of some individuals that were wiser than myself in the realm of snowboard boots and went with the 8.5 in these. I purchased these in 9 and 8.5 and my big toes could touch the end in the 8.5 and didn't in the 9. This made me want to stick with the 9 but I was promised they would pack in a little and that having your toe slightly touching the end of the boot ( to the point that you knew it would be uncomfortable in an hour ) was the ideal fit. I believed in their advice and went with the 8.5. I wore them around the house for a few hours and then did a day of park laps with my brother. I would say by about the halfway point in the first day, my toe was no longer feeling a little cramped, and by the end of the day the boots were feeling really comfy. I only have two days in them since the first day, but they have been quite comfortable, warm, and just the right amount of responsive. I am riding them with the Hologram binding which replaced my 4-5-year-old Burton Cartel bindings. Once I got the adjustements dialed I can safely say that with the size 8.5 I could have sized down to the Small binding, but the Medium works just fine. This would not have been the case with the size 9. Heel lift is non-existent, the internal BOA cuff does an amazing job and since I went with the 8.5 I do not have to crank it down much. I do not have any odd pressure points but would note that if you have a slightly wider foot, not even a wide per say, but just a slightly wider foot, you would want to look at a Hi Fi or Synapse in the wide option. My foot is pretty average but I can say that if it was at all wide, these might not work for me. I'll take a photo next time I go, but I am pretty pumped on how well these are working out.
