You bag peaks and count couloirs for a living, your favorite form of competition is counting verts, and as mountain biking season rolls around for your friends, you take finding remaining snow as a personal challenge. When you eat, sleep, and breath ski mountaineering, Salomon's S-Lab Minim Ski is so lightweight and minimalist, it's always your first choice in touring partner.
Created with an ultra-light Karuba wood core that keeps each ski weighing a minuscule pound and half, and coming in at only 160cm (to meet competition requirements), the Minim is designed for quick ascents on distant peaks. A narrow width underfoot offers a high level of control on steep slopes and dense, wind-affected snow, while a wider nose and tip rocker will still keep you riding high on any powder you encounter. A reinforced binding zone enhances durability and edge grip in high torque-situations, with a flat tail adding further stability for downhill turns. Since getting to the top is often the focus of the game, Salomon made sure to include uphill benefits such as a race notch for securing skins, and an engineered side cut that maximizes edge grip underfoot for easier climbing on variable snow.
