SalomonQST Stella 106 Ski - Women's

Expect the best, prepare for the worst.

Like you, the Salomon Women's QST Stella 106 Ski craves powder, but it can still handle its own when you're forced to ski groomers when everything's tracked out. Given its 106mm waist width, this QST undoubtedly hovers over the sweet soft stuff with ease, and a Twin Rocker profile only enhances performance down untracked goodness. Expect a playful pivot and a surf-like feel when you turn down the steep and deep.

Unfortunately all good things must end, and just like the inevitable changing of each season, a massive powder dump is bound to bring hordes of skiers, which indubitably changes the softest terrain into tracked hardpack faster than you can look up the definition for "indubitably." Fortunately for you, the QST 106 Ski still thrives on firmer snow with its inverted 3D wood core that filters vibration and optimizes stability when you're speeding down the mountain. The CFX carbon superfiber laminate and Koroyd honeycomb inserts at the tip and tail also increase dampening, while the power platform underfoot enhances your edging on hardpack.

I. LOVE. THIS. SKI! As someone who alway shied away from women's skis, I was so happy to finally find a pair that can ski in any condition, is aggressive enough for high speeds but forgiving enough that you can get lazy on it and not get worked. I've had a pair for three seasons now and they still look and ski like they're brand new. I combined this with the Salomon Explorer boot and MTN Tech binding and it's easily my favorite setup of all time. I'm getting another pair for alpine skiing and combining it with the Salomon QST 110 boot and Warden binding. Perfect quiver!!

Can Ski Anything

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The QST Stella is a powerful ski that can handle deep powder and big lines, or charge through crud and fly over hard-pack. I was pleasantly surprised how well it handled groomers - very responsive and easy to engage. I am 5'7" and 124 lbs.

How do they do in the trees?

I have demoed this ski.

Pretty sweet all mountain, big mountain ski. If you wanna rock tight spots and the trees, I say go with the Lumen 99. That's one tricky little bitty! But, if you are looking to make big figure 8's and dance down the resort's run, this will almost do it for you. I literally danced in this ski. It moves really well, and it's smooth. It handles powder nicely, but strong enough for the ripped up crud and such.
