Size was True

  • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: L

I ordered a size up due to the other reviews, and found instead that the sizing was spot on compared to other pants I own so they were too big. I am 6/3 with a 33-34 waste and ordered a Large based on the other reviews. These things were huge in the waste. I suppose if you had 3-4 layers underneath and cinched them down they would work, but a Medium would have been great off the shelf. Otherwise, these pants are lightweight and would be easy to ski in. Probably not as high of quality as other pants I own in the $250+ range, but for the price they are solid. I will say the pockets on the front, including the zipper, was a bit goofy both in terms of aesthetics and function. I'd encourage Salomon to rethink these in the future.

Size Up

I am a Size 32 waist, but I ordered a Size Large. I'm so glad I sized up. Fits my waist very well, with a little extra room for layering. They also fit close on the hips and legs, which gives a nice fitted/modern look.

The pants themselves seem to be of top quality. The insulation seems like it should be sufficient on its own for skiing down to the high-teens, but below that may require some additional under-layers. I love the extra features such as the thigh vents, bottom kick patches and hem reinforcement.

My only gripe is that I wish the pockets were a little deeper. I dont think I could fit much in them.

    Salomon ski pants

Very warm yet thin and flexible. I sized up because people said they ran small! XL fits a 36” waist perfectly. I usually would wear a L. The ability of these ski pants to keep you warm in the cold mountain temperatures is priceless!

      Sized Very Small

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs small
      • Size Bought: XL

I bought a size XL assuming that worst case they might be a bit big for me similar to my old XL North Face snow pants that these pants were meant to replace. I knew as soon as I put one leg into these pants that they were sized very small and tight through the legs. Possibly accidentally sized for womens pants? Other than the disappointment in the sizing, the pants seem to be as described. I would have preferred not to give a rating since I did not use these pants outside but I wanted to give warning about how small they run to prevent someone else from having to go through the return process and then having to find an alternative.

      How to Measure:
For best results, take measurements over your underwear.
Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your chest.
Have a friend measure from your center back to your wrist.
Measure around your natural waistline, keeping the tape a bit loose.
Measure around the fullest part of your body at the top of your legs.
Using pants that fit well, measure the crotch seam to the bottom of the leg.
