Solid trail shoe, needs insoles

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

The Good: Super stylish with excellent, grippy treads, comfortable mesh uppers. The Bad: Feels like lacing up a flat, firm rubber brick right out of the box, and utterly lacks arch support/cushioning. Yes, this is advertised as a more supportive/stiffer shoe, but...wow. If you don't mind buying some good insoles (as in, a moderately priced pair from a running store that matches your arch, etc, not a drug store insole) and giving these some break-in time, then these would probably be good for rocky/rugged trails and definitely adequate for day hiking. I just think they are too stiff for running comfortably on long-run days.
