Light hikers with an alpine-inspired design.
In the world of hiking there's hiking shoes and hiking boots, and then there's the Salewa Women's Mountain Trainer GTX Hiking Shoe. Taking elements from Salewa's more alpine-inclined boots, this burly hiking shoe maintains many of the same features you'd expect to find on a mountaineering boot but in a more nimble package for fast, summer ascents.
The upper is composed of durable suede with wear-resistant Cordura reinforcements throughout. A full-wrap rubber rand protects against abrasion from rocks and logs, while a mid-stiff nylon midsole give the shoe a stiff and supportive feel when working your way up technical climbs and exposed sections of trail. The climbing-style laces ensure a comfortable fit. A Gore-Tex membrane give the shoe the waterproof, breathable performance any serious mountain shoe requires, so it won't be the end of the world when you take a slip during creek crossings or inadvertently step square in a puddle along the trail.

My mom was in need of some hiking shoes and she loved these. she says they hug her foot perfectly and feel very sturdy and supportive without being to stiff. The fit was true to size. She also loved the fact that they had a 2 year warranty
