Front Range Harness

The Ruffwear Front Range Harness gives your dog a comfortable fit and a free range of motion for those long days of running and exploring that she loves. This easy-on, easy-off harness provides four adjustment points for a customized fit and offers leash attachment points on both the back (for everyday walks) and chest (for training or additional control). Padded chest and belly panels offer load dispersion for comfortable extended wear, and reflective trim allows for safety and visibility in low light conditions. An ID pocket stores dog tags and stops that annoying jingling.

Stays on Dog

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

We have a weird shaped dog with a big neck and a tiny head. This harness works great for him!

Poor fit; hikes up

This may work for some dogs, but not my Whippet. The fit was very poor despite measuring. It ended up looking like a neck collar, rather than a chest harness.

    Amazing

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been using this harness for about 6 months now and I love it! I ordered a medium and it works perfectly! It is adjustable and a little padded so it doesn't hurt my dog when he wears it. I love the little pocket that holds his tags so they aren't hanging and hitting him when he runs. It has leash attachments on the front and back which makes it awesome for training.

    Amazing

    Best purchase

i love this harness for my husky, it’s durable and perfect for everyday use.

    Great fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Xs size is great for our #35 mutt. I like the multiple attachment points

    Ruffwear Front Range Harness

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Brody is a 33 lb Shiba and the small fits him great. It's comfortable that he doesn't mind wearing it all weekend while on adventures. Pair it with the Knot-A-Hitch and it makes our lives way easier camping with a dog that needs to always be on leash.

    Perfect Harness

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Easy to adjust, perfect for the dog that likes to pull you. Best harness I've used, and with how well it is built it will probably be the only one i will ever have to use. *****

      Perfect for my black lab

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have used this with my lab quite a few times so far and it works great. She used to strangle herself when her leash was just on her collar but with this harness she cannot do that because all the pressure is on her chest so she does not pull as hard!

      So many to choose from..

and I chose this one. I've got two dogs and these worked well for both of them. My husky is about 40-50 pounds and wears a medium.

        Long Lasting Harness!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great harness from Ruffwear! Love throwing this on the pup for a hike into the mountains. Super padded and comfortable so your dog doesn't fight or fuss when they have to wear it. I've had mine for about 5 years now and have no complaints at all! High recommended with the knot-a-collar/leash!

        Perfect For Our "Senior" Doggie

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Our Aussie is 16 years old. She walks tentatively and coughs often. We were looking for a harness that would be super easy to get on, give her gentle encouragement and not place any stress on her throat. The Front Range Harness takes about 30 seconds to adjust for a perfect fit, and even less time to put on the pooch. Now that she's used to a different feel from her plain old collar, she seems to really like the comfort and enjoy her walks again. Go Ahead, spoil your "Bestie" with a RuffWear harness.

Thanks George! My Senior dog loves this harness on the river, as well. It's a perfect design!

        My favorite dog harness ever!

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

After doing a ton of research on harnesses I decided on the Ruffwear Front Range harness for my 2 year old dog. She sometimes pulls against her collar so hard that she starts choking so I wanted to get her something to help distribute her weight better. I have absolutely loved using this harness with her since we got it! We use it every day on our walks and hikes and it has certainly been put through tons of conditions. It is super durable and has held up wonderfully. My dog seems to be super comfortable in the harness and it fits her body perfectly.

great fit, great bright colors. highly reccommend!

        Hardworking, stylish harness

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

We love this harness, it is tough and resilient even with our extra stubborn bulldog. It is super adjustable, hugs your pup in the right places without pulling on them, and holds up against the strongest dogs.

        Great harness

Harness is easy to adjust, very sturdy, and the padding seems comfortable.

          Comfortable & Seems Durable

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My Springer Spaniel is a puller. He ends up pulling less with the harness. This one is nicely padded, fairly easy to adjust. I found the fit guide to be accurate.
Getting it on and off is quite easy. When he sees the harness, he tries to put his head in it. Easy to take on and off. Haven't used the front leash attachment; doesn't seem durable. No chaffing under the front legs.
Not real easy to adjust on the dog, but once adjusted, it's a matter of just unsnapping the two rear buckles. Gunther is 60+ pounds, and the Medium fits.

          Tucker loves his harness

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got this harness for my big pit mix Tucker and he absolutely loves it. He didn't have any problems with it during initial try on and he now knows it means we are going out on an adventure. Tucker isn't a big fan of water so when we need to cross rivers I can just scoop him up with the harness to make sure he can cross without getting his paws wet. The size is right on for most ruffwear products, however for anyone also shopping for a dog backpack I found I had to size down to a medium while Tucker wears this harness in a large so definitely double check!

We have had this harness for over a year now and it is holding up great.

          Tucker loves his harness

Dog gives it two paws up

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The medium seems to fit my 45 lb border collie mix well. I like that this harness has a leash attachment both on the dorsal and ventral sides of the harness. My dog pulls much less with this harness on and when the leash is connected to the ventral side of the harness he pulls even less as it turns him when he does. Holds up great and easily rinses off when ole Frank Dogg rolls in the mud.

          Poor Fit On My Part

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got this harness in gray, size medium, after my pit mix wandered away and chewed the buckle on her last harness. With the multiple adjustment points, I was able to dial in a pretty decent fit, but when she's not putting her weight into the harness, the chest panel gapes quite a bit. This may be a sizing issue on my part and not a fault in design. Regardless, the harness functions very well and appears to be relatively comfortable once she'd gotten used to the over-the-head design. I like knowing there's extra padding in key areas (beneath the buckles specifically) and the front attachment point definitely stumps her when she starts to pull.

All in all, there are a lot of reasons to love this harness - just make sure you measure your pup (even if it's a hassle)!
