The shovel is slightly softer than the tail, allowing you to initiate turns more easily while still having an incredibly stable platform under your back foot. Working with that stiff flex, the Amptek Elite profile mixes a generous camber between the feet with rocker in the tip and tail to provide powerful energy transfer and edgehold when you need it, while still skipping over piles of crud and floating through deep fresh snow, respectively.
