Racing competitively on the local enduro circuit? Or maybe you're hitting lift-serviced downhills in the Canadian Rockies? Either way, the RockShox Lyrik RCT3 DebonAir 170 Boost (51mm Offset) 29/27.5in Fork has you covered with the unflappable stiffness desired by aggressive riders pushing their forks to the absolute limit on every ride. Beefed up over its smaller Pike sibling, the Lyrik RCT3 is RockShox's premiere fork for the aggressive styles of all-mountain riding and competitive enduro racing. It's been revamped for 2018 with a DebonAir spring and Charger 2 damper improving its overall suppleness, small-bump traction, and mid-stroke support.

As the go-to choice in RockShox's line for long-travel applications and aggressive riding styles, the Lyrik is the stiffest fork this side of a dual-crown Boxxer used exclusively on downhill bikes. The secret to its rock-solid feel lies in its 35-millimeter stanchions with thicker walls over what you'd find on a Pike, meaning it tracks more precisely when you're thrashing the living crap out of this fork on burly hits and technical stretches of trail.

Newly introduced for the 2018 line of Lyriks, the Charge 2 damper improves the fork's small-bump sensitivity, which equates to better traction when you're riding across sections of jarring roots and rocks. The new damper widens the range of low-speed compression tuning, giving you heightened levels of adjustment for perfecting its feel on the trail. It's also easier than ever to turn the lever of the 3-position adjust knob, meaning it's now compatible with RockShox OneLoc handlebar remotes. Besides being incredibly popular in Europe where long uphill slogs are necessary (think regions of the Alps), the OneLoc remote comes in handy for competitive racing scenarios where reaching down is a major disadvantage.

Another new addition to the 2018 model year is the DebonAir spring, which is borrowed from RockShox's Deluxe and Super Deluxe shocks. This technology increases the negative air spring volume of the fork, thereby making it much more supple off-the-top, as well as increasing its mid-stroke support as you push your bike on steep and wild descents.

Seeing it's rocking the latest Boost axle standard, it's no surprise the Lyrik now clears both wide volume trail and plus-sized tires without any rubbing issues. This particular version of the Lyrik works with both 27.5 x 3.0 and 29 x 2.8-inch tires, giving you the ability to run a much larger tire for increased bump compliance and gobs of traction over loose terrain. Another design feature that effects its performance is the 51-millimeter offset/rake, which makes for nimble handling by reducing the "dead space" between the steering axis and hub. This offset helps to negate the sluggish handling inherent to big-wheeled bikes with relatively slack geometries.
