RIOTippet Rings - 10 Pack

Extend the life of your leader.

Switching out flies and changing the size of your tippet doesn't just shorten the length of your leader, but it also changes its overall taper, reducing your leader's ability to turn flies over effectively. Rio's Tippet Rings offer a simple solution to this problem through a small, light, and strong ring that can be tied to the end of your leader with an improved clinch knot that can then be used to tie a length of tippet. The tippet rings can also be used dry-dropper rigs and are ideal when tying tandem nymph rigs.

Stop trimming line

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I use these for nymph rigs and the results are incredible. Easy to swap flies and tippet on the rings instead of trimming down and replacing more line as the day goes. Use with a traditional rod or the tenkara rig.

Time Saver

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I like how quick and easy these are. I just recently started using them but so far I really like them.

Crucial for Nymphing Rigs

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've used these for salmon, steelhead, pike and saltwater fly fishing. The rings when combined with swivels give you more options to build stronger custom leaders for everything from nymphing rigs but also streamer rigs. Adding a swivel to a ring helps with wear and abrasion from line twisting for big streamers and facilitate faster switch outs so consider these a must have if you build custom leaders and are looking more tackle flexibility in your fly fishing.

Quick Rig

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These rings allow you to rig quickly with no issue. Being able to swap out rigs quick, means less time rigging and more time fishing.

Save some Leader

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Love these tippet rings. I trim down my leader to the desired length then attach the rings. I can replace the tippet whenever I want and even add a dropper line if the fishing calls for it.

Love it.

I always use these Trippet Rings. Every fisherman needs this.

Tippet Rings

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Started using tippet rings awhile ago and i'm a firm believer in them! They make it very easy to switch out flies and tippet without having to make a knot to knot connection.

Cheaper Than Leaders

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I was on the fence about using tippet rings for all too long and finally gave in coming into the winter fishing season here in Utah. I constantly find myself changing out my flies & tippet all too often on the river, while chasing finicky winter trout, and using these lil' beauties makes tying knots way easier with frozen fingers. These rings are tiny so it is highly recommended to tie them onto your leaders while they are still fastened to the fancy little clip that is included with these rings.

The icing on the cake with using these is that your your leaders will not grow increasingly shorter as you swap out your tippet, time and time again.

Excellent tool for nymphing

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

At those times when the hatch is not popping off and you're nymphing all of the time, these are a mush have. Setting up a proper nymph rig can be quite time consuming and when you're out on the water you don't want to spend all your time rigging up, you want to be in the water catching fish. These will help eliminate a ton of setup. If you tie a few different nymph rigs before you head out fishing and have some tippet rings with you setup will be a breeze. Tie the tippet ring onto the end of your leader and then tie your nymph rig to the ring as well and your good to go. Ready to switch your setup? Cut the rig of the ring and tie on the next one and your ready to fish again.
