The Dean Fat Bike Wheelset

With the lightweight Dean Fat Bike Wheelset, Reynolds is schooling the industry with its new lean, oversized hoops. The Dean’s dramatic weight loss comes courtesy of the carbon fiber construction and the elimination of bead hooks and tubes, which Reynolds claims trimmed 3lb from the wheels. With that said, Reynolds didn’t sacrifice strength to save weight. Like all Reynolds’s Blacklabel wheels, the Dean is built with MR5 (Mountain Rim 5) technology, which allows for an incredibly precise lay-up to deliver the perfect tensile strength and stiffness across the rim. The rear rim is laced to the unrivaled Industry Nine Torch hub. With a lightning-quick three-degree engagement, the Torch hub makes the lean Dean even more swift and powerful—two modifiers not often applied to fat bikes.
