Great Travel Tube

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a great tube for the price. 4 stars because the zipper seems to be like all the others' that I have worn out. Also, the ends of the plastic insert bulge out and I can see that this is going to wear down the zipper each time it is opened/closed. Overall, great for protecting your sticks and reels!

Let Me Tell You About This Case..

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Its great! Fits everything i need in it, and makes storing easy. Really sturdy and practical. Cant go wrong with snagging one for your setup!

Good case to get on the water fast

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is a good case considering the price point. Have uased it a few times now my only complaints would be( hence only 4 sttars)
1. the zippers get "stuck" going around the corners
2. no divider between the reels . seems common sense that you do not want your reels banging up against each other .
I put a cloth between them

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great case had my uncle buy me another one for my birthday!

Redington double rod case

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have 2 redington rods, the voyant and the butterstick and this case fits both perfectly with reels attached.

Fits great, weird sleeve, but perfect

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The sleeve for the rod sections is just a nylon sleeve, different than I had hoped, but works just fine. The reel holder is plenty big and definitely fits fine. With the hard plastic in the rod section and the padding in the reel sleeve, you'd have to be really neglectful for the rod/reel to incur any damage. Ultimately, this in a light weight, is exactly what I wanted. So, 5 stars.

Will this fit a 6wt reel?

Solid Rod/Reel Case

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gave this as a gift but packed the 4 piece 5wt rod into it before wrapping. Fit well, seems sturdy.

Everything You Wan It To Be

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

If you ever plan on traveling with your fly rod this is exactly what you need. It does its job well and has plenty of room for your reel. I threw this onto my backpack while in the Wind Rivers, it added some extra weight but was extremely convenient. It's worth the weight to be able to pull your rod out with the reel attached, especially if your just taking a few casts on the move.

Unanswered Question

What are the dimensions of the double & single case. Need to know length for airlines. Thanks

Top Protection

In preparation for an upcoming trip in Yellowstone National Park via horseback I needed to find a travel case to protect my four-piece fly-rod. Upon researching various travel cases and their respective reviews I settled on the Redington. Not only for its hardened case and its protective pouch for the reel, it has a nylon sleeve for each rod piece which protects them from each other. The reel pouch also has plenty of padding and space which will allow me to carry a small capsule for the flies I might need.

Great case for keeping the reel on

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

If you wanted a case that you don' have to take your reel off, this is the case for you. Fly rod fits easily into the case without having to fuss around. Very stoked on the case for sure! Fish on!

    Hard Case Protection

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This hard case does exactly what it's intended for. It protects your rod from being damaged and scratched up. I enjoy that I do not have to detach the reel to store it. I got the 9ft -4 piece option which has 4 separate sleeves. Super reliable!

    Protect your rod.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As in most cases in life, you should never leave home without protection for your rod. This will keep your tip safe from breaking and keep your rod nice and clean while bush whacking to your favorite hole. Highly recommended. Their are a lot of fish in the pond but without a fully functional rod your opportunities are limited.

this is the most helpful review i've ever read.

Whats the difference between a single and double???

The double will hold 2 rods and 2 reels.

    Double 9ft 4 pc.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Though the picture only shows a single case, the double is indeed a double. The rod tube has a really tough outerfabric that is extremely durable and hard tubes to protect the rod itself. On the inside there are separators for all 4 sections keeping everything from clanging around. The space for the reel is large and easily fits large arbor reels.

    It Is What You Need!

I have this in the 9ft, single, 4 piece model. Short so it packs around very easily. Plenty of room in there for an extra rod if you have a shorter one you can run on the same reel.

So in tech specs it says for only one rod...

So in tech specs it says for only one rod but there is an option for a double. So does the double hold 2 rods and reels ?

Correct. The double holds two rods and reels.

      Great case

One of these is the best insurance you can have for that expensive rod and reel you're sporting around.
