Get them started.
Sometimes, if you want the people in your life to come to the river with you, you’ve got to help them get the gear to make it fun. The Redington Crosswater Rod is a great choice for a newer angler. Its moderate-fast action is forgiving for someone working on their cast, and the four-piece design and alignment dots for easy set up make it easy for them to take responsibility for their own rod. Designed to handle all types of water, this is a great rod to experiment with while figuring out what type of fly fishing is your favorite. The price point makes this rod an economical choice for anyone who may not be a permanent member of the sport—but hopefully they’ll stick around.

- Q & A
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
It’s blue which is dope. Every time I’ve taken it out I’ve caught trout which is also a good sign. Durable, cheap, casts in the wind reasonable well casts far with heavy set ups. Oh did I mention it’s cheap? Slays trout and I love it.
Looking at this crosswayer rod says 4wt but the tech specs say 5, 6, 9 what is the actual wt of the “4wt” 4 or 5 or is it a 4-5wt
If you are looking at the 4wt then it is a 4wt rod. The tech specs that you brought up are just listing the different weights that we carry. It looks like our selection for this item has actually grown and they just haven't gotten to updating the tech specs accordingly.
Is this a just the rod or combo with reel, line, case etc.?
This particular item is just the rod, but I have included the link to the full outfit. If you have any other questions or need assistance with an existing order or placing an order, please feel free to contact us on Chat or call us at 1-800-409-4502. Thanks!
