Why We Like The Race Face Next R Crank Arms

We love Race Face's rugged and DH-worthy SixC cranks on our big bikes for no-nonsense performance, as well as the ultra-lightweight and stiff Next SL crank on our XC whips. Sometimes it leaves us wondering, what cranks to put on our trail bike and if we have to make a compromise. Wonder no more. The Next R Crank Arms are designed for epic days out on the mountain where climbing is ever present and weight is important, yet hardy enough to ensure it can handle drops and jumps so you aren't stranded on the mountain. Handmade in Canada and constructed from unidirectional carbon fiber, the arms feature the downhill-rated SixC G2 pedal inserts preventing blown out threads and stripping. A 7075 alloy spindle keeps the package trim and transmits every watt through the drivetrain. Cinch technology enables tons of ring option and compatibility. Available in in 170 and 175mm options.

Rad Cranks

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Ive run these for a season or two now and I love them, super light, strong and sweet looking! I've had numerous rocks thrown up hard by the front tire hit the cranks and leave a ding or two but otherwise, nothing major! These are also damn stiff and feel good when pedaling hard. What I also like is that you can change spindles to fit different bike dimensions. Price is the only part that hurts but you get what you pay for and these have the strength to weight ratio to make that price understandable.

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I've had next cranks for years because I keep getting them warrantied. If you sickly ride just down hill they might last more than a year but if you do any kind of climbing they will come un bonded from the aluminum and you will have floppy crank arms and some sore knees. I can't believe they haven't figured it out yet.
